New Tacoma owner. 1995.5 ext cab, manual. Had valve cover gaskets replaced and not sure it's all back together correctly. I know for sure some lines/hoses arent hooked up correctly, judging by pics of other engines I've seen. Entirely possible some lines were not correct and/or missing when I bought the truck last month, as I'm finding lots of little surprises by the previous owner (passenger axle seal was installed backwards, crossthreaded/stripped bolts everywhere, etc).[IMG]

So can someone tell me what is visibly wrong and how to fix it?

To start, that line that snakes from the top of the throttle body to the front looks way too large for the fitting on top of the TB

Do you have any new Codes ?? Check Engine Light On??

Have they been pulled ? If so what are they ??

Idle correct for engine temperature ??

This is a better approach then asking what looks wrong.

25 year old truck so many things might have been rerouted or changed over the years .

Is the diagram missing from the Hood??

Check engine is on, only tried one mechanic and it didnt read anything wrong.

Not sure how to measure idle/temp. Seems fine though.

There's supposed to be a diagram??

Haha no I wish but I would have been a wee 2 year old lad at that time, but I love this beast. I bought her off Craigslist in Colorado Springs about 6 years ago or so? I’d have to look back. I bought it for $3600 with 268,000 Now I’ve got 365,000. Best purchase I’ve ever made next to the 01 4door SC 4x4 I bought for $1500 because the SC needed repair:bananadance:

Just meant that it is likely a vacuum leak.

Sorry, no access to 3.4, so I can't help much. I have 2.7. But based on electrical diagram I can help with any electrical issues as long as it is not heavy modified, butchered or hacked :D

Give me just a minute, at lunch I’ll go snap pictures of mine with more up close pictures. From what I can tell, whoever owned it before you did some modifications to hoses. I see bolts shoved into the ends of hoses and the location where there should be like an air box on your intake hose.

Yep, thats why Im here. Lots of little things all over from previous owner, but missing bolts, lugnuts and fuses are easier to diagnose.

Thanks for the clearer pic. One of few engines that I've seen that doesnt have the R and E nipples on the throttle body capped. What is your front facing nipple on the intake manifold (right above the '24') connect to, if anything? Looks slightly different from your own diagram.

What does your hood sticker on the left say? Just so I can show mechanic buddy its the same truck and emissions region.

the diagram shows nothing for that front connector, but mine goes to the vacuum switch for the power steering pump. It is connected to the bottom connector on the power steering pump

Also I did pass emissions w/o it in operation. Actually with flying colors.
