Poly engine mounts and OE trans mount, okay, but not the other way around. There's a good chance you will crack the tailshaft housing.

 

Engine first. Transmission second.

 

I got a poly mount on my crawl box that’s right after the trans mount and the transmission and engine mounts are both stock. Been that way since 2012

 

I noticed other day- the traction bar I built has managed to rip the frame cross member in half. I used the cross member the carrier bearing uses. I had gusseted and reinforced the cross member but now I'll cut the whole piece out and go full overhaul.

Got any pictures before the carnage? I remember there being a thread about traction bars. Got some real debaters in there. Anyway, the hinged method that Calvert Racing uses, is very effective, while preventing unwanted binding. Curious if this is something yours has? Also curious of your new design thoughts.

 

Did you have to build new backing plates for the u-bolts to attach to since your truck is lowered? Curious how this would work with the caltracs

I used a perch to make mine spring under axle. The Caltrac kit comes with an Xrunner backing plate, with welded on tabs for the trac-bar.

They also make kits for lifted trucks.

 

have you ever heard of someone using the XR backing plate to make them work on a 6 lug with the TR lowering kit? I am curious if there will be much fabrication involved. These are on my list just not sure when they will happen

 

I'll cut the entire c channel cross member out and have 2" square tube in its place.

 

I have not heard that. I had to remove the TR lower components when using the XR backing plate. Which also meant going back to OEM shackles.

Spring perches from various manufacturers are available though. Which don't require welding.

 

How does yours look at the axle connection?

 

Welded in place. I might reinforce it even more

What is an alternative to Redline CV2 grease? Looks like Lucas Red & Tacky is not compatible (Lithium Complex). Redline CV2 is Synthetic.
