Took the truck into the Stealership Tuesday to get my warranty frame spray on and I wake up this morning to a text saying they think one of my front wheel bearings needs replaced.

    They quoted me

    $346 parts
    $427.50 labor ($133/hr for 3.2)
    $100 alignment

How on earth they are coming up with 3.2 hours for a wheel bearing I do not know.

@Shellshock nvm now I know why you're asking.

Tell the stealership to crack off. 1 hour. Max.

Oh I fully plan on it. I asked them to email me a quote and they texted me total cost instead and seemed to get annoyed when I kept sending them questions to break it down more. It is almost like I knew I had a bunch of questions that would be answered by seeing the full quote that I asked for in the first place.

And I knew there was no way it takes 3.2 hours to do a single wheel bearing. That is the dumbest part about it.

It does if you buy all the parts individually and have to assemble them. Thats how they get to 3.2.. they cant buy the full assembly

Pretty sure it is frowned upon for stealership to buy parts from anywhere other than Toyota. Lol

That wouldn’t be OEM, that would be aftermarket.

Oh, it happens. Don't think it doesn't.
Frowned upon yes, but don't think it doesn't happen.

Got my truck back from the dealership. Put it up on a jack and confirmed the wheel bearing actually needs replaced and the passenger one is good. Replacement is ordered so I guess I get to have some extra fun this weekend. :bananadead:
