The sad truth is 95% of people want self-driving cars. The fight to save the manuals will turn into the fight to save the steering wheel, throttle, and brake pedal.

The small percentage of guys who enjoy their MT will be the future guys ordering the last Tacoma’s with a steering wheel in 10 years. Greater society is moving on from car culture, mostly. They just want to stay inside their apartments and look at screens, and have a computer chauffeur them to their dog’s gender reveal.

For Canada it is correct that MT only on '21 Sport and Pro. USA - as others have noted, available with the OR SB. How they cant bring a MT OR to Canada, when they're made in the same plant, is beyond me. I went with a '21 MT Sport, can add an air locker if I need I guess.

Did they discontinue the Canada-only Access Cab MT TRD Off-road?

Truth be told, I welcome the electric revolution and self-driving cars. When I'm too old to drive, I'll be able to have my car drive me to the drug store and doctors appointments and I won't be that guy going backwards on the freeway.

But for now, I want one last MT before they are gone forever. For me, driving an MT is a joyful experience. I love that constant pursuit for the perfect shift. But I get that I'm weird.

The self driving vehicles are something l truly hate passionately, hoping it's long past my lifetime before it becomes commonplace here. I am in a rural area, streets don't show up on navigation, also navigation is awful as it will tell you to make a turn while on a bridge, cell coverage is spotty at best. Just cannot imagine a self driving vehicle being to navigate through the roads around here.

I think it depends on where you are in the country. I live in So.Cal. and the car and bike culture is very much alive and well here. Weekly car cruises are very well attended and all the local parts places are doing crazy business.

I’m sure other parts of the country and my state are different though.

Only on Tacomaworld is that thought. In no world are manuals more desirable and valuable than autos, sorry. I don't know the numbers but if manuals were more desirable then you would see the sales numbers support that.

My first 2 vehicles were MT's and rwd pony cars (in snowy MN) so I spent my late teen years and early 20's driving them. One of them had a heavy ass aftermarket clutch. It's fine when you live in a place with little traffic but it's hard to justify it as a daily driver when you have to contend with tons of stop and go traffic. The deal breaker were the 2 hour commutes in stop and go traffic on snowy days. There were days in which i spent 4 hours on the road.

Short of a dedicated "fun" weekend sports car, I have no desire to ever daily a MT vehicle again.

Carfax fair market value; KBB is full of shit and says my truck is only worth like $8,000...

I was recently hit by an inattentive woman in a parking lot (I wasn’t in the truck), and the damage came to $450; I asked the guy from the woman’s insurance company how much damage my truck could take before it was totaled, and was told that as long as there wasn’t any structural damage or deployed airbags, it would probably take over $6,000 in damage to total it...

Just work back from there to find actual cash value...?

What I’m trying to say is that in 11 years my no-frills Tacoma has managed to retain almost two thirds of its original sale price...

Welcome to owning a Tacoma. That's pretty typical for most well cared for Tacomas.
