Throttle request to air load and the throttle limits normal one through six. Control overall pedal feel.

 

Let me know how it goes. I have done it, but it doesn't move the throttle. Here is a visual.
Edit. I guess it depends which one is Vf throttle.

 

Sure thing. I'm probably driving 500-ish miles this weekend to the San Juans in CO, so the tune is gonna get a hell of a test run.

Question for you, do different combos of D vs S vs ECT on/off change anything? Or is it just normal/stock ECT?

My guess is that the 2D maps you changed are the nannies. The accelerator request and airload control maps are where the real calculation occurs. Then the 2D throttle limit maps reduce throttle if the calculation is above what the maps allows.

 

I got the same error. I emailed zendesk and Mat said it will be fixed in the next version.

The changes to airload tables that we told to try to are not producing the 1:1 ratio.
I see 1:0.5+- with moderate engine load.
1:0.7 @High engine loads.
We may need to bump numbers in airload control/expected table or there are different tables

 

A question I have been pondering: is the throttle valve always the limiting factor in airflow? Example: if manifold pressure is already calculated (because there is no sensor) to be at ambient, then the ecu may see no reason to further open the throttle. In this scenario if manifold pressure is actually at ambient, then there is no benefit to forcing the throttle open further. If it is below, then you would need to tune the airload control maps to refine the accuracy of the calculation so the ecu can go get more air.

 

Well sadly I can confirm the S Mode trick doesn't work. Throttle map for S Mode overrides normal mode. It is certainly a snappier throttle but no different between the two modes. You could either leave it or copy all the S Mode values into the normal values for throttle limits. Still a snap your throttle than most of my tunes. Less throttle input needed for same result. Kind of like a pedal Commander.... I'm with @Vlady and @dunlap837, there's something else limiting these tables. We're going to find it have faith boys!

 

I'm still trying to build up the courage to try that screenshot map. the one where I thought it would make more sense if all these things didn't have a huge dip on the upper left hand corner. Maybe I'll pull the trigger on that today yet...

 

I wonder if you guys are focused on the wrong thing, worrying about throttle angles so much.

The real thing you want to control is airflow. Controlling throttle angle by cable is the old skool control method. Looking at these maps, it seems to me like the ECU is trying to calculate how much airflow it wants, and then calculates where the throttle needs to be to get that airflow taking into account engine speed and load.

I wonder if trying to map mass airflow or some other parameter to accelerator input is a better direction to go in.

 

It’s just the normal ECT function. I haven’t messed with those yet since I never really used gearlock or anything.

Has anyone got enough Courage to smooth the air load like the throttle?

 

Not from my experience. A slight change at the bottom end completely hosed up the throttle. IMHO, the shape of the curves are important, esp at the bottom end.

 

I multiplied the accelerator request to airload table from 2.0 thx by 10%. Good results. Do not allow any values to increase higher than the existing max values.
