Thanks for the reminder. I tossed that in the PTTT thread and will add it to the 1st Post as an option.

It's so hard to give any of these options a solid objective evaluation when we don't really understand the relationships between tables and don't have a dyno for apples to apples comparisons

The logging seems to be the best indicator of positive or negative impacts, but some of us are just a bit too lazy to use that sort of tool really effectively.

Yessir. That is the struggle. Also, why I want to get a couple tanks through this tune to see. The changes are fun though.

On the logger side, I wish the stop / start button was bigger! I have to stab at it a few times. The FM logger is really good though.

Wall of text, you've been warned. Lol

Alright, so my throttle v2 map was neutered af in comparison to my accidental performance throttle map. I'm going to throw Frank's v4ALC on that v1 and call it a day and save it for anybody who wants it, because it absolutely is aggressive and gets you going quick lol would be a shame to delete the map.

The v2 I ended up keeping, throwing the ALCv4 on it, and renaming it 'Smooth' for storage purposes, because it really does feel like just a stronger smoother version of Mat's SFOB Reg.

My v3 was a step in the right direction for throttle, notably tip-in, but had nearly zero engine braking ability, even though PTTT column 1 was all -5 while my v1 was zeroes. Lol :notsure: deleted it. Just not at all what I need as a combined whole, fuck it, trashed it following other revisions.

Made a v4 within a couple minutes and reintroduced @92ehatch PTTG1 map, and then changed the PTTT first column to all -7.5, and experienced much improved engine braking, low end strength. Felt like another step in the direction of the old 1.05 BFO test map, which is a good thing of course. I went back to create a v5 and at this time is when I started throwing on the ALC4 edit onto nearly any of these that I'm keeping, even if I'm not retesting, just because it looks like it'll be a solid edit and not seeing it as necessary to verify via flashing+driving when that particular table isn't my immediate concern. Anyway, stored that v4. If my v5 & v6 don't work out for me, then this v4 will be what I stick to. It's not quite where I want it to be, but damn close for sure.

V5 I did nothing to the map except add the ALC4, wanting to verify only once for science's sake. I'm just not going to retest the earlier revisions for that airload edit unless this map is complete shit. Lol

V6 takes that and changes the PTTT column 1 to all -6, and then CTRL-I for those first 4 columns. Just in search of a bit of middle ground between that -5 and -7.5, which surprisingly generate a large effect for such a small difference/number. Will be testing both of those maps here in a couple mins.

    Thank you sir!

Put simply, I'm looking for these things ATM:

    1. Smooth delivery of power right through the rev range with minimal "weirdness";
    2. Removing artificial barriers to available torque from idle 1000 rpm. The dead fish feel must go; and
    3. Stock levels of engine braking or better.

Now that I seem to have tentatively checked these boxes, I will look to improving the consistency of blip response and overall throttle linearity (but not at the expense of the above three goals).

Whoa! Those are some wicked changes from "stock" you applied to the PTTT map!

Can you tell us what you like about it?

V1 was Rage and V2 was Mello Yello?

    That sounds familiar. :D

It sounds like you are circling in on the solution.

You're doing better than I am lol, I only have one edit that I would consider "good" ATM.

All of my previous attempts have had some weirdness pop up while attempting to "fix" something seemingly unrelated.

    Whack a mole.

I have to resist the impulse to change too many things at once with the unending edits.

Hard to say what I like about it. Like everyone else, it is so tempting to stack folks recommendations on top of one another and I'm far from patient enough to be scientific about the whole thing. But with this PTTT, it just makes me smile a little. Remember, that I'm stacking these changes on the Rev Hang test file and not the official SFOB.

It's probably easier to say what I was trying to address than why I like it. I was pretty happy combining most of the suggestions that folks were using in vF Tuner, but I didn't like the transition through the 2K and 3K rpm range with "normal/average" pedal input. It just wasn't as smooth as everything/everywhere else. It is easiest to reproduce in 4th gear about 1/2 way into the loud pedal. Very light throttle was fine, and WOT was great, but in between the truck seemed to stumble through that zone. I'm half convinced it is the ACIS or maybe I have a loose spark plug (haven't played in those areas yet).

Anyway, of all the tables folks were playing in the PTTT table had that sharp cliff in the same area (from my non-scientific, color-blind, tiny box counting, guessimation) where I was getting the "stumb'n". So what I did was step "up" (Engine Speed) 2 rows and then round off the corner so that I didn't "fall off the cliff" in the Engine Speed/Accelerator junction points where I thought I was having an issue.

All very good info, thanks for that.

2-3k is where I've experienced what I call "stuttering", sounds quite similar to what you're describing. Even on my current file I can still feel it, although not nearly as much. On edits that were super smooth (but lacked engine braking), that zone felt like a torque plateau that you just had to get through lol.

Lol I mean, what do you want specifically? :notsure:

For the record, idk if you went with Tony's hyper-linear direction with the tune. I didn't.
