Went back to the range with that Savage 220 (I was a little rushed last time) to get a few more rounds downrange. I was the only one there, so a buddy/employee there ran the 20G 2 3/4" Accutips and the Hornady SST's through their ballistics calculator. 21 yards/63 feet was the indicated zero for 100 yards. Made some slight adjustments to my scope. Results were good for both the Hornady SST's as well as the AccuTips. Should be good to go. Most deer in Maine are shot at 30yds.

@Jtcmedic It’d be ight if they tasted like Little Debbie fall cakes or Lance Crackers.

I’m sure there is, just depends on how much you want, what you want to pay, and how close you want to be to a town with a grocery store.

All this talk about Remington pump 30-06’s made me dig my Remington sportsman 74 auto 30-06 out.

My parents gave it to me for Christmas in 1991. The Kmart is long gone but I remember them buying it.

I refinished the stocks a couple years ago. I’ve killed a lot of deer with it and missed a lot too.

Hey @Zeke588 got a chance to use the kestrel knives last week. I would definitely recommend them. Both worked flawlessly and the fixed blade stayed sharp even with me beating it against ribs and joints.

Recent trail camera check. Not bad for a trail I found scouting. A couple of mature deer. Not giants but mature. And the $30 Muddy camera seems to do ok
