As early as you can in your trip, try to get your truck to go through all of the gear changes a couple of times... Some of the shifts are going to hang, some might seem to go a little too soon but dink with the throttle input until it goes. Get the truck to go through a couple cycles of gear changes and it really seems to settle in much quicker. If you're having trouble getting it to upshift, I found it easiest to cheat by gaining some speed while going over a hill and as you come down the other side you can let off the throttle and that extra momentum will give you your upshift. Once you get a handful of one through six gear changes in, do a couple of slow and then hard accelerations. Get it to drop one gear, then get it to drop two gears via how much throttle you give it. Then switch over to Etc mode and do the same thing. It'll be very drivable within 25-30 miles if you get it to cycle through all the gears a few times. Throw as many scenarios at it as you can. It really speeds up the process of having a tune settle in quick.

Edit: Did I mention getting the truck to cycle through all the gears really helps the tune settle in quick?
    LOL.
Seriously though it really speeds things up.

awesome advice man! I will put it through some good testing this weekend as we will hit a variety of driving conditions, speeds, and all. Ill do what you mentioned as i make my way out of my area before hitting the first of many highways. I always put the highest octane the place has in and as I continue west, it goes from that sweet sweet 93 to around 90 when we make it to Big Bend.

im stoked as this has made driving the truck so much more fun!

Thanks @Mooseditty17, I've done a compare with my blended tune which came from 04B04 Perf Stock(gear) Thx AGM and I've added in your higher values across the board. I also had not tried to TQ Converter locking at all so what the heck. If I get this run around tomorrow I will report back and toss it in my signature for those interested. I was headed in this direction I see you went but you're getting there before me.....thanks to treading!!

Love this community and how fast improvements are being made. I skip a day in reading this thread and there are updates to the latest "community" tune out there. RAD Kudos!

Just curious if the webinar on the 17th is still happening?

@OVTune I've been pondering attempting to add to my tune the ability to lock 2nd gear during a WOT pull, do you see any issues mechanically or other that would make you not recommend trying this? If my math is right 2nd gear could pull up to about 80 if I locked the TC.

Also I guess you can say that’s my way of making ECT an “eco” tune. Just make it haul ass in regular D mode lol

My pleasure. I have the Rough Country calibrator as well and yes it did help with shift points. I also confirmed with OVTune that it wouldn't cause any conflicts with the tune.

I’m returning back from my road trip tomorrow. You’re saying I may have to fill up with regular to test out this latest tune huh. Slacker!

I'm going to be out of town for the webinar, visiting a friend who's mom just passed away. Can someone record the webinar and send it my way for me to watch later? It would be much appreciated!
