I know that feeling all too well. If you have colleagues around talk with them collectively. I often struggle then ask someone with a fresh perspective to come scratch their head with me. Even if they don’t have the solution, sometimes it gets me thinking in a different direction instead of running my mind in the same circle.
Not to rub it in, but I just final fit a prototype with a customer and it went amazingly. Pretty good considering that I had 2 days to take it from conception to functional. Good way to end a crazy week!

I get what you're saying and thanks for the advice. We just met with the customer to talk about some problems we're having and before he got here my boss and I were talking about one of them. I said "that right there is a stupid design" (thinking it was the customers design) and my boss said "I didn't know what else to do there". I felt like crawling in the dumpster :anonymous:

We'll get it, it's just stressing me out a little.

Once we get this one complete and working we have to make another one to match, it should go a little smoother.

This is on our YCM xv1020. It has around 40” of travel. We also have an Okuma M560 with just over 40” of travel. The okuma has a fourth axis which is awesome. Looking at replacing the YCM in the next year or so.

My last 2 shops had some YCMs. Decent machine but definitely lacked some balls on heavy milling. I've always been a fan of Makinos

You guys will probably like this. I know I can show these @six5creed

First pic was the riggers bringing in the big Campro at Rock Valley. Second was when I had to change the belts on the SKT250-ms, 3rd I was using the Campro to make spindle liner holders for a rack for the SKT21-LMS and SKT250-ms, 4th is the 4th axis rotary with pneumatic collect popper I had in the YCM they gave me to run, and the rest were from when I was rebuilding the guards putting new wipers in.

Not to mention the lovely scent the coolant acquires, especially in the balmy Florida heat.:puke:

Made some practice bends on some scrap tubing so I dont mess up the actual part im assembling. You only really get one shot at a bend like this and every size and thickness of tubing bends differently.

The part itself is the one that has the glass fritted disc in the larger tubing section.
