    Hello!
I am new to the forms here as a poster, so I apologize if I post this in the incorrect spot. I have read a million posts on going 35" and know the work behind it, but I want to ensure I am on the correct path here.

I bought my Taco few days ago and have made some modifications are far as cometics, now im ready to get into the dirty side of things. Upon buying my Tacoma it has 31" K02 tires with fox coil over front shocks w/ leveling kit and fox rear shocks (both non-reservoir). My final build will be TC upper & Lower CA's, King 2.5 W/ Res, Camburg performance spindles etc.

To the root of my question. I plan to build this over the next year but for now, while I work the overtime for the full build can I run the King shocks, TC long travel upper control arms and Hybrid front bumper (w/ re-gearing, cab mount relocation, pinch weld modifications) and do moderate trails for the meantime while I save up for the rest of the parts to include fiberglass 3"? If I plan to just do the King's, uppers and bumper are there other MUST have parts such as CV's, 1" diff drop etc REQUIRED at this point when going 35"?

Thank you for the assistance ahead of time. I am glad to finally own a TACO and be part of the community.

Pics of the current suspension? You can clear 35” KM3s (BFGs run small) with a 1-2” lift of any kind with proper CMC or relocate and some hammering. Will need to trim fenders you clear while compressed. You don’t need 99% of what you’ve mentioned if the goal is just to clear 35s. And pic to prove that I know some stuff about clearing 35s :)

    thank you!
What is the ability of the suspension with the 35's and only the CMC, hammering and fender modifications? Will I lose quite a bit of travel? After I have the 35's I would still like the ability to run some trails until the rest of the modifications have been done. Beautiful Tacoma setup!

As long as you clearance ok (CMC and hammering) and trim fenders you’ll have as much travel as stock. Up travel and down travel ratio will change depending on lift but you aren’t going to change anything by going to a bigger tire.
Why do you want to go long travel? Your current setup (especially with 35s) can get you nearly anywhere. Do you feel like you really need it for what you plan on doing?

Well, at least in my Silverado I did A LOT of off-roading. I want something that will hold up to daily driving but also be able to climb terrain and FLY down the sand wash's out here in Arizona at a pretty good rate of speed handling the bumps.

I mean I’ve got a pretty basic suspension setup and was running washes out by the Grand Canyon at 50-60mph. My recommendation for you -
    UCAs (pick your poison)
    Spindle Gussets
Fox or King 2.5 extended travel fronts
Remote Resi rears (2.0 or 2.5 is fine)
    Deaver Leaf pack

That’ll handle anything you could ever throw at it

Perfect, thank you for the help!
Did you ever re-gear as well? With the lift in the front did it require you to do the 1" diff drop or replace the Cv's?

Yes definitely want to regear. I went to 5.29s and would recommend those over 4.88 if you’re planning pretty much any armor.
No need for a diff drop on the 3rd gens
No need to replace CVs, if you’re wheeling hard or running 3”+ of lift (which isn’t recommended) you might tear a boot but no reason to replace before that happens. Stick to 1-1/2” or 2” for optimal travel specs
