I'd be on the phone with corporate. Sounds like they are doing everything wrong. Also, get your insurance inspector in there asap. Tell him to go wild

I know it’s hard to grasp at times, but remember. It’s just a truck.
And that looks repairable.

Not a super ton, but they can help encourage your dealer to treat you well and help make sure it gets put back in a way that everyone can be happy.

Definitely repairable, no frame damage. It doesn't bother me much as this is a work truck, but i expect the situation to be handled well. I would have loved if they offered to buy my truck and put it towards a new tacoma or tundra.

 

$7500 discount and they give you full trade in value? I mean if you want to upgrade, now is the time lol keep in mind that they can fix it completely with oem parts and everything but the incident might populate the carfax and so may diminish your value if you decide to part with it in the future.

 

At least they owned to doing the damage. But doesn't explain why they're being difficult about it.
I had an incident where Capistrano Ford tried to play off huge bedside damage to an F250 I had. They said, 'That wasn't there when you dropped it off?' I said 'No, it wasn't there before but I'll be back to pick it up when you have it fixed.' They tried to claim it was a delivery driver that side swiped it.

**Always make sure the service rep walks your car when you drop it off at the dealership. This is where you prove that the damage happened while in their possession**

Last year we had a tech hit the wall in someone’s Tacoma (abs, 4 mph thanks to ice, we watched it happen in slow mo) but bumper was cracked. We got him a brand new bumper and paid to have it painted by whoever he wanted.. shitty situation, but it does happen. Corporate can’t do much here, this falls under the dealership 100#%

 

"Well then thanks but no thanks but I think this dealership has done enough damage", would be my response as I'm sure yours was too.

 

dealership should be taking care of all of this if not then go through your insurance and file the claim.

 

I would make the dealer go through their insurance.. the dealer has insurance for this kind of thing. They don’t like making claims, but tough shit for them

 

This should be very simple, file a police report, call your insurance company.
Insurance company should get it taken care of and you rent a truck that insurance will pay for. End of story.
Thats what my insurance company would have done for me.

 

dealer should take care of this...tell them you are gonna post up about it locally to let them know what a shady dealership they are. all your friends, family and everyone you come across will hear the story. go straight to the boss/owner.


i had taken my first 2016 taco in for regular scheduled oil change. my wife got home and said it had a leak. sure enough it had a huge puddle of oil under the truck and all the way down the street. called dealer and they picked it up and kept if for a day.

they called back and said everything checked out and it was ok now. the problem was the tech did not see that the old oil filter gasket had stuck to the engine causing the leak. i told them i didnt trust the truck to be alright after loosing nearly all the oil.

there was a bit of back and fourth, but they ended up giving us another brand new 2016 tacoma with a full warranty...

 

You can call you insurance and file a claim. They will fight with the dealer to get the money from the repairs and you’ll actually get the rental car you need.
Call them and say you need a truck as a rental today or you will have your insurance handle it.

They may snap into shape because if you trigger insurance it triggers a claim and a deductible for them.

I personally would not let the handle it.
