I'm one of those guys with bypasses upfront but the rear is still underbuilt :facepalm:Hoping I can start on the rear in January. I still have so much to do and so busy with work. I have fenders and bedsides ready to pickup, just need some days off to drive down, get them, then install everything. I still have to make a few height adjustments on the front suspension as well.

No big deal - makes sense to set them up since your kit is all custom and it’s nice to make the shock mounts and cycle everything all at the same time.

So I swapped out my coil springs to 18". I need to decrease my preload to get my UCAs sitting a bit more level, they're a tad pushed down. After that I need to raise my bump stops. I currently have 1" of shock stem showing at full bump. I want to try to get it to 1/4", or as very close to my inner fender as I can to squeeze as much up travel as I can out of the kit.

We have emissions, but not like the CA guys do.

My problem with the above is losing all that bed space. I need it to haul all my prelanding shit to camp.

You don’t have to loose much bed space, here is my 3 link using 12” CO’s with towers that tuck under the bed. bed cage then bolts through the bed in two places for each tower. This nets 20” of travel :

Do you need a sway bar on the back with the 3 link?

I've already got a bed cage and 14" shocks, so that's okay. I just want to keep the gas tank out of the bed.

Either 3 link and OEM tank or put the rank behind the rear axle where the spare tire used to be is what I'm thinking.

I do not have a sway bar but I would like to add one someday, the pedestals that we built off of the frame to support the rear of my bed cage kind of interfere with the best spot to locate a sway bar so I have been exploring alt sway bar ideas. It's not bad without one currently.

For sure. If you can afford it and are already doing the work then more power to you! Just not the first thing I'd recommend for someone trying to get the most out of a limited budget.

There aren't many linked trucks out here, so I'm not really sure how necessary a rear swaybar is.

@sytfu510 has one with his DD link kit, but other than him I really only see them on trucks with a traditional 4-link and like 30”+ travel in the rear.

3 link seems like the way to go if you don't want to mess with the gas tank, and if you aren't mobbing big terrain really fast. The sky's the limit when it comes to shock / spring configurations though.

Dang that desolate motorsports one seems tricky to design, build, and tune with the cantilever coilovers but bypasses off the axle
