What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

The AZ dealer will collect the CA sales tax and registration fees. They have us stop at a place in El Centro on the way back for the VIN verification/emission inspection(dealer pays). That way when CA DMV gets the paperwork everything is done.

They have a system in place for the out of state sales, they do them regularly.

I scored that deal with a lot of work in Feb on my 2020, same build with LEDs, etc. $44.8k MSRP, got to $39k not using rebates with a lot for reluctance and pitting between dealers precovid for about 13% off MSRP. I see your in CA which is gonna be a big ask to try to get that sort of discount on that config let alone now, but good luck, maybe try AZ / out of state to get closer to that target price.

 

Still looking...can't even find a dealer w/in driving distance that's able to get me an SR5 V6 Access Cab let alone negotiate on a price. Some dealers I contacted don't even call back!!! Things are crazy right now.

 

New member here. I’m shopping for 2021 Tacoma 4WD myself. I’m working with One of the largest Toyota dealers on the East Coast, Sparks Toyota in Myrtle Beach. Right now all they’re getting in or the higher end Tacoma’s with the pricier base msrp’s; TRD sports, off road, limited,pro. My goal is SR5 Acces Cab MSRP $34425, SR5 Dynamic Nav with options $1710, interior LED light upgrade $189, total $38324. Sales rep says they are coming but no firm dates. Same with me. Dealer tells me that those are coming in but he doesn’t know when. All they have now are the higher end models. If you want a 2 Wheel Drive not a problem.

 

$33,077 plus fees after rebate. what do y'all think about this offer?

yeah, you're right after thinking about it all they did was give me 1000 rebate off MSRP... they playing me haha

 

Unless you need a truck right now wait it out , I paid in June 32,506 plus fees for 2020 offroad 4x4 with led headlight package . The market will soon with flooded again and pricing will go back to somewhat normal

 

What is a reasonable timeframe on getting more trucks into the market?

 

I see them by the semi load daily , dealers here are starting to get a fair amount in stock now

 

I'm paying $33.8k for a SR5 double cab short cab after the rebate so I'd say that the price you have is a bit high

 

I'm hoping that there are more deals on the Tacoma's....I'm in a bit of a bind now since my 1995 T100 was totaled last month by a lady who ran a red light and I just got the settlement check. I don't want to overpay for a new Tacoma but we are down to one vehicle now so I'm going to have to pull the trigger soon.

 

I have a pretty low option 2021 Off Road DCSB MT being built in Texas this week and supposedly delivered early November. Only able to get about 3% off msrp but I'd rather have the truck than wait who knows how long to save a couple grand. Emailed 10 dealerships around me and most wouldn't come off msrp, some didn't even want to respond/tried to sell me something else, even though my email was very specific. The mass email/call list is the way to go.

 

While I agree and history suggests, that most likely this scenario will play out, is it possible that this whole situation will cause a semi permanent shift in the market where they realize that selling them for 13% off MSRP is just not necessary? Competition will undoubtedly drive the discount up to say 10% but maybe it will never hit The good old days of 13%. Just throwing that out as a possibility

 

The good old days of 13% were the lucky ones who worked for those deals, just right timing, etc. not really common place. Most prior to all this were closer to 10% off MSRP. But ya I agree, Tacomas were popular prior to COVID, during COVID, 2008 recession, etc. no need to give massive discounts to move them and Toyota knows this and now they know people will pay MSRP if push comes to shove guessing too those bigger discount deals are not gonna be around for a good amount of time, maybe model year end clearance 2021. Hoping everyone that needs a truck can score a decent deal and this thread can help navigate / get a bigger picture of the nonsensicalness right now. Good luck!

 

I heard the same thing from my dealer. That and with the Covid has slowed delivery. But they are starting to come in.

 

Yup. Except I wouldn’t call it lucky. I would call it grit, determination and patience. Lol. That’s certainly how I got 15.2% off my 2016.
