Yeah, I had entertained the idea, but I can get more use out of a rifle than I can with a RTT. I have ground tents galore and a pretty comfortable sleeping setup, so it's no big deal.
I got a lead on some ammo. Just let me know what you need.

When in bear country, I like the comfort of being up off the ground.

In my 40 years of camping, I've never seen a bear. I'd have some bear medicine If I were to ever camp in bear territory.

Well, I definitely wouldn't buy an RTT simply for the fact that it's faster to setup and break down! lol Ground tent, air mattress, pillows and all the covers and comforters I can squeeze in the truck, makes for a warm and comfortable sleeping quarter.

Yes i agree. I was mainly saying if its one person setting up ground tent and one person setting up RTT the RTT will win by about 3-4 min in my experience.

When its me and Anna setting up RTT i can have it sleepable in 3 min and pack away in 7.

just easier for me than ground tent camping. I've done it before and wasn't the worst thing haha but i get way better sleep in my rtt and it is a lot easier for me to setup/ tear down. Only have to take pillows and top cover out. Really want a hard shell though.

I’m picking up what you’re putting down. I would say I’m pretty close to that in my setup/takedown time, though I have never timed it.

I just like the simplicity of the RTT basically being ready to sleep In when it’s opened.

It's just a hassle for me to take on and off. Plus I don't have anywhere I could store it when not in use. Now, if I get a camp trailer that I can unhitch, then I would consider a RTT. It's going to be an ugly election year and with all the riots and uncertainty, I plan to be ready for the worse. Already have water, food, fuel, and medical supplies stored away. Just need a few more thousand rounds of 556 and we will be sitting comfortably.

I get that yea not ideal for me to take on and off but i really don't have to since its not my daily. Honestly not trying to sell anyone on an RTT but just giving my opinions. Just do what makes most sense and easy for you to do and have the best camping experience possible!

Our best camping experience is backpacking a few miles in, setting up base camp, and then exploring afterwards!

Thats the thing. RTT could be permanently attached to trailer. Haul the trailer when camping, and drop it off in the back yard when not! That’s my philosophy anyway.

I will say, before I built the lift in my garage I was pretty annoyed by the RTT lol. Now I can pull the tent off the truck in a few minutes and not worry about it.

Yea that was a pretty badass system i saw at your house. Ill most likely make something like that at my house. I usually put my RTT on by myself which is kind of a pain in the but but I've gotten efficient at it.

I saw Tacoalamodes setup in his garage and fell in love! Lol. But unfortunately, my garage is packed and no way I can add a RTT right now.
