Has anyone seen what those Gassers are going for from Hot Wheels? I read an article that one went for $2400 still carded. I think it was the Candy Stripper 55 Chevy. Even some of lesser cars are getting $60+. They said Hot Wheels didnt see this coming. No wonder its so hard to find any in the stores.

I did see them at the shows I went to. Anywhere from 1500 to 3500. I believe they are numbered and the lower the number the more they ask for them. As a fan of the gasser I love the 55 they make but 3500 is crazy

Should also say I do see a lot of customs that they put a lot of detail into for a lot less.

I just did some more searching and a lot of people think even the base cars you can still find are gold. The white ones with gold wheels I picked up 6 at a grocery store for $1 each. They are trying to get $12 for the same ones on Ebay. I guess I am cheap because I wont pay it.
I keep saying it when you buy these things buy them because you like them dont do it as an investment. You will be disappointed.
My wife is learning that now with her Holly Hobby collection she collected in the 1980s. She might get back what she paid but there are very few that have any real value.

I don’t collect for an investment either. I started with just vw bugs and that’s still the main car I collect but Every now and then I see one that’s not a vw and I have to have it. I get a lot of crap from collectors because I take them out of the package. Unless it has nice colorful artwork on the card.

I dont worry about keeping them carded either unless its rare. I keep the special packaging on some of the larger ones. My "Gasser Room" only has so much room to add to it so I only buy pieces knowing something will have to go. That really slowed down the buying for me. My garage is for overflow that I will be selling off after this pandemic eases. A lot of that wont be easy to part with either. Im just looking at being 61 and what am I going to do with all of that stuff if something happens. My wife has a Raggidy Ann and Andy room that is packed along with a closet full of Holly Hobbies she is also getting ready to let some of it go. We never had any children so we had the time and money for stuff like that. What was fun to collect has now become a concern.

Got my new Hot Wheels transport today. This is very well done. New body style for the Baja and detailed truck with spare tires up top.

Some look almost real. Nice job. Is any of those S10s the one you painted?

I must say I'm really disappointed in the Hot Wheels holiday offerings the last couple years...
