    Ehhh.... By the letter of the law yes. But people also drive 58 in a 55 everyday. Unless you are doing something malicious with it like broadcasting on emergency services frequencies, there isn’t a black FCC van driving around trying to peg someone for a walkie talkie crime.

    I had it for a while to listen to the emergency services around me out of boredom and never really learned how to use it. I did a run a few weeks ago, showed up, someone said "press this this and this" and then it just worked. Like @mabepossibly, it works great for a $25 radio off Amazon.

    And yeah, the FCC has better things to do than bother some guys in the woods

    If you want to be legal without a ham license, probably the best option would be to buy a GMRS. They're about $75 for a pair.

    The $60 ARB one is supposed to be pretty good! I have been meaning to get one, and I think they have them Prime available

    I have a 30ft 2" procomp 20,000lb strap, and a short 10ft (craptacular hardware store nylon one rated at 10k lbs).. and a winch... also have a bunch of soft 17k lb rated, and hard shackles 20k rated, and a 20k rated snatchblock. and a hitch reciever....

    skidplates are next on my list.. waiting for a black friday sale.. or new years sale... looking at CBI, but eveyone wants $200-250 shipping for a $769 bare steel skids...
