damn you’re tough to have to cut quite a bit out of the trans tunnel to get them to fit. Can’t wait to see them installed and the Uber super slow video to follow

Does anyone still have their stock 23 spline coupler from a 1st gen Tacoma/3rd gen 4Runner auto? I need one for measuring/development purposes.

They may be different, but I’m fairly certain I still have mine from my 1st gen Tundra which is also 23 spline (and I know the 23 spline j-shift Tacoma cases bolted up to the tundra trans).

I'm 90% sure I have mine in a drawer out in the garage. I'll check later.

How's the flat belly coming along?

I’ve been reading this thread when I can think I’m up to number 20 or so but anyone know where I can go read up on this stuff more in depth? Like, one or two cases, stock vs FJ, what type of fabrications I need to make on cross member and front shaft etc? I guess what I’m looking for is some in depth pros and cons etc. or just keep reading these threads?

Lots and lots of research. I was never able to find it all in one place. This thread is probably the most extensive on the net. It's just scattered. Keep reading.

You're options on a second gen Tacoma are pretty limited. As far as I've seen your options are basically either get a tacobox or atlas.....and since you probably won't be able to get your hands on a tacobox any time soon (and they have a lot of issues) you're better off in the long run shelling out for an atlas and doing a good install on it.

You might be able to mix and match some stuff from vendors but if you look through this thread trying to mix and match shit commonly becomes a headache and it looks pretty uncommon to see people attempt it on later generation Toyotas.

Can you elaborate on what kinds of issues there are with a tacobox on a second gen?

I would like to know too, I’ve watched a lot of videos on it and felt this was the way I was going and then this comment... I thought taco box was solid?
