It's not really about a flag for me. But somewhere you have to draw the line. Once, all of a sudden this was an issue so they could virtue signal, that's where I have a problem. I mean hell, bubba boy gets a free ride next year. Can I get free shit for being white? Nope.

If I am paying for an event to watch an athlete, musician, actor, etc to entertain me, then that’s what I expect. Don’t use that forum to express you political feelings. I would lose my job if I did this at work. Now, if you want to use your fame to discuss this in an interview or what not, that’s your choice. If you want me to listen or support you, then take some of that famous money or time and go do something.

I do miss my sundays parked in front of the big screen, drinking beers and yelling at the tv. My body is happier.

To be fair, he hasn't been doing much. He has potential, but he's been given a top tier ride and was vouched for by Kyle Busch and still hasn't been able to do anything. The 20 really hasn't been regularly competitive since Kenseth.

Not entirely sure what "woke" things they've done aside from banning the confederate flag (which they'd been asking people not to display for years). You had probably 2 people take a knee for the anthem for like 2 weeks and that was it.

Sponsorships don't have anything to do with the governing body of NASCAR. Cigarette sponsors are banned, but those can't be advertised on TV anyway. Cell carriers were banned by Sprint when they took over, but I'm not sure if that still stands. Personally, I'd be more than happy if I never saw BLM or Trump 2020 BS on another NASCAR car, but NASCAR doesn't really dictate that either.

It was mostly the Fox coverage that wanted to plug the woke narrative... should have said that.

They always seemed to wanna focus on the 43 and Wallace's "struggle" and then the "noose" incident.... they shut that up very quickly.

Yeah, I agree with that, although I still prefer Fox to NBC. But NASCAR did play a role too, just not much of one.

The only thing Nascar as an organization did that was woke related was ban rebel flags. Fox Sports did most of the rest.

The noose thing I think was a factor but I think their ratings help shut them the rest of the way up.

Except for the outcome... pretty good finish to today's race.

Ratings overall have been up for the season, although COVID may play a role in that too.

I wasn't pleased with the finish. Lots of excitement for a while lot of nothing. So hard to pass with this package. Yes the cars are closer, but the racing isn't necessarily better.

This go-kart package is a stinker. Hardly any lift in the turns. It's like a water gun, aim and squirt. At the least, knock down those massive spoilers. I've been saying for years; they've been chasing ways to control aero grip and ignored mechanical grip. If they'll just manage some basic elements with mechanical grip, it'll put things back into the hands of the drivers. Slim up the tires 2 inches, ditch the splitter and put a front valence with 4" of clearance so the cars aren't riding on the splitter for the first 10 laps. Same for the side skirts and spoilers, 4 inches. It was the "4/4/4" rule from the early '90s.

As much as I'd love to see more ground clearance and no splitter, they will never do that. It's the same reason the superspeedway cars all look like they're running body kits. They want to reduce the chance of the cars getting airborne as much as possible.

Y'all remember last year when I proposed a TW sponsorship idea? Well, I've been doing some homework and shopping ideas around. This isn't TW-related but I have a meeting with Brandon Brown tomorrow. Trying to put together a sponsorship deal. He's a Virginia native and his team knows how to do some decent Darlington throwbacks. He was a marketing major in college. Cross your fingers I can make something happen!
