@Baja Designs do you have a harness that is long enough to connect ditch lights along firewall for clean install? A little disappointing the harness that comes with the lights isn’t longer or come with a relay like other options.

make your own harness. That’s why they include the weatherpack connectors and pins. A crimper is $15 on Amazon.

If you aren’t pulling more than 10amps don’t really need a relay.

So wiring Baja’s harness straight to Cali raised switch. I’ve got two red and two black (harness) to green, two red, and black (switch). Any idea how to wire it?

We do make a 55" splitter for applications that require a bit more length - https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/squadron-s2-wire-harness-splitter-55-universal.asp

As SearArtist mentioned, the harness that is included should be sufficient. However, we do also sell a premium harness that can be purchased separately for those that have needs with higher demands - https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/squadron-s2-wire-harness-3-light-max-325-watts.asp

My saga continues - I got my lens (yeah) and it was amber (bummer):(... Thankfully BD was super responsive and is getting the correct (clear) lens shipped to me right away.

In the meantime while searching mounting options further I have limited options. It looks like my best bet is the 20" ONX6+ light bar which will block some airflow (though no one seems to have that mount system in stock), or they do have a floating grill mount where I can put (2) lights. Mostly I've seen LP9's or 6's used with this setup. This mount wise is actually my cheaper option and it will not impede airflow like filling the bumper step with a bar.

So, is there a downside to LP9's? Aside from physical size and cost? Will the high output be annoying on a curvy road where there are trees at close distances sometimes?

Could I also know what the breakdown for the LEDS are in the LP6 vs the LP9? I lean toward the LP6's because they are less in your face, and cost less, but I don't want to end up on the not enough light wagon again. How many Racer LEDs are there in the LP6 and LP9 (I know the 20" bar has 4)? I think the IPT will be cool, but I do have that covered with my Squadrons on the A Pillar pointed outwards some.

I run my 40” on very tight and curvy mountain roads without issue. If you’re not worried about the side lighting I’d skip over the LP series personally especially the LP6s. I guess you could get 1 LP9 pro and 1 LP9 racer? Assuming you’d get 2

What are the alternatives, XL80's? I feel like 2 of them might not get the job done like a 20" ONX6+ bar,, or 2 LP9's but that might just be due to my limited exposure to Aux lights (esp in the Baja Design realm).

I actually think the IPT would be cool. I have the Squadrons though and they are perfect for more mild driving where the bar or others high power lights would be overkill. Since I plan on keeping them I'm looking at add more the the mid and far field and I'll just throw both switches when I'm up at highway speeds. I don't think I'd mind the peripheral light from the LP's though. Seems to me the bar would sort of provide mostly mid and far field vs what the LP's would. Question is then, do I lose light out there with the LP's vs the bar, or just gain light in the periphery without the loss at distance?

Man, these are times when I wished I lived closer to places that had expos and shows!

It’s definitely between LP9s and a 20” onx6. If you’re happy with the light you have just want more at distance I think the 20” is the ticket, that way you pretty well know what you’ll be getting.

Although 1 LP9 pro and 1 racer would be pretty interesting.

@IPT I did my best to take a picture of a close roadside bank and it isn’t uncomfortable at all. I think the 5k color temp really helps the light feel “soft” against things like that, now road signs are a different story.

You guys are lucky because so many of your light mounting options are clean, or just look cool. On the Sprinter van options are just bulky tubes or monstrous monoliths. There is a nice custom bumper or two but they are like $2.5 grand and I'm not even sure they would work with the Parktroinics system our van has (wish I never got that option!).

One option that is only $250 bucks floats the lights in front of the grill. The look is growing on me, but I have not come to terms yet of having two massive 8" lights in front of the van. Plus, I have no idea what the output is like. Lumen wise, forward projecting at least, 2 LP9's are a little less than the 20" bar. Though I could aim them slightly better than the bar. Oh, decisions, decisions.

I have a ram 3500 with a road armor bumper, I made the mounts for my bar and welded them on so the sky’s the limit if you have some fab skills and something to build off.

since you want the most distance lighting wether you use a bar or pods they’ll all be aimed straight forward regardless of what it is so I think that’s a moot point.

I still vote for a 20” onx6 or two LP9s, a pro and a racer. The LP9 setup will give you more light at distance and the 20” will have a better blend of light all around but with your ditch lights to fill in near field some I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Also keep in mind that LP9s are heavy ass lights so make sure any mounting options you buy will be up to the task.

Fab, skills, there is the missing link :(. I'm a wood guy who can cut metal and that's about all (sigh).

Yes, the mount I'm looking at is designed for the LP9's - but like you said they are BIG (dare I say obnoxious) looking lights :). I'd be more comfortable slapping some Lp6's on there. The 20" bar would by far be the easiest. The wiring harness is already there and I could practically use the mount I have. Issue is, I need to either buy a bar and protrude if from the van ($300 for a simple bar!) AND, it blocks almost the entire air opening in the step area. I've only seen one guy say it caused issues, but on some level it just seems like it might not be the best option.

Not a Tacoma - but just for reference :). Hope you all don't mind the intrusion.

I can’t see a 20” there causing any issues at all, especially in your climate. Either way you’d be fine. If you’re pretty well setup for the 20” go that route and if you need more you can add racers of some sort to the grille.

And surely someone local can make you a mounting solution cheaper then $300.
