    I’m no expert but from what I’ve gleaned over the years:
    • Permas are pretty much told it’s a perma
    • Sometimes you’ll get a warning from a Mod, something along the lines of, “keep it up and you’ll have ### time off
      • Time off can be either the entire forum= banned or
      • Time off can be from the thread where you were banned = reply ban.
    • Some say getting banned is a badge of honor. Others don’t.
    • It’s only anecdotal but I suspect alcohol or other substances are a factor if you’re banned.
    Tell your friend not to be a dick. Learn and follow the rules. Break them only when you absolutely need to. Take the consequences like a man/woman/intersex/transgender/questioning/anything else I might have missed.
    Edit:
    Didn’t mean to be so flip about gender. Alot’s changed since I was a kid.
