That's one of my fab spots.
Once you set up camp up there, everyone who ventures up turns around.

    Great spot.

I had my kayak but never actually put it in the water. I knew if I did I'd want to venture to another island and didn't have time to do it really.

Anyone been lately? Thinking of going this weekend

How are the roads? Going to be in a 5th Gen with a trailer. Have traction boards but no winch.

Yeah I was disappointed two weeks ago when I went. It use to be a little rough and had more technical trails but now its gravel and smooth.

    Yes.
But if you aren't there already on a friday, there's probably limited choices.

The road that looks like it dead ends on this map goes up to laurel forks falls. There is some really good camping spot on the creeks that lead to that water fall. In fact you have to cross a creek to get to them. That's the most wheeling you will see. But those spots already have a first pit, benches, etc. The road is just a random fork off of horse pasture rd and as the map shows if you've reached jumping off rock you passed it

I was there yesterday, everything was in great shape.

agreed with the above comments though. Will be hard to roll up on Saturday and find a spot. The area has gotten very popular over the last year

If you want more decent "Wheeling" go across the lake to Musterground road, gets a little more technical out that way I guess.

Speaking of more technical, I drove out to Colorado last week for a nice 12 day vacation, long drive but totally recommended. Went to Mosquito pass, was gonna do scofield pass but it got a little hairy as in 1 wheel hanging off the cliffs lol. Camping was fun but the one night I finished mosquito pass we got a freak blizzard and it was 20 degrees that night.

We went and had a great time. Note to all: you can only camp in designated spots. We got kicked out of a spot by the game warden at 10:30 last night. We packed it up and drove home.

We did get one good night of camping on Friday...

Where were you exactly? Some of the spots with fire pits already there aren't marked as campsites. Some "campsites" are little cut outs right off the road. I stayed up in one spot in late september, I don't think it's marked as a site but i could be wrong.
