I see your viewpoint but if you ever get serious about riding you will want to ride one bike so you can maximize your technique. Much easier to focus on riding faster when your bike is dialed

    not enough.

Yeah, I usually camp. Haven't ever gotten a hotel because of all the good camp spots around. That said, I was there a few weeks ago and it was perfect. still some traffic but nothign we couldn't handle and it didn't slow us down at all. this weekend will be a completely different story.

anyone know if this is an issues? looks like the actual shift cable itself is intact but the cassette/chain still make a clicking noise like it wants to change gears but I seem to have been able to tune that out with the barrel adjuster for the most part. and yes, the hanger is straight. just not sure if its worth swapping the shift cable/housing. Personally I’d put new cable and housing on.

Definitely swap it. If the housing isn’t right the cable can get hooked up and cause shifting issues.
Tolerances are super precise with modern 12 sp drivetrains. Even a weird bend in the housing can cause clicking or missed shifts.

The smoke coming in is making for some crazy dramatic skies. I won’t lie, at one point I was getting a little worried as the smoke started to make it hard to breathe...
Put these in chronological order through the ride.

Apparently, a new one started up near you around Allenspark this afternoon. Cameron Peak is out of control. All natural areas up here west of FoCo/Loveland are now closed/mandatory evac’d. Even if I wanted to ride, I can’t. Sad, sad times up here right now!

It's 7 miles from our house right now.... Went from 1 to 3,000 acres in three hours. Scary shit.

Devils Backbone has since been evacuated. The latest evacuation line is 2 miles from my house. Shits getting real now. This fire is now considered the biggest fire in Colorado history.

Taken last night from a ridge just east of the Backbone looking west to the fire 5 miles away.
