6 inch lift and shocks for 2018 tacoma (for show or off-road)

What are the best shocks for a 6inch lift? I'm mostly on the road and i'm from Guam and we have a lot of pot holes. I'm a very rough driver too lol

6" lift is not practical.

Just for show.

Use the money on spinning rims, led lights under the truck and a loud exhaust.

To do it right, you are looking at new coilovers, UCAs, cutting, rubbing, wide wheel spacers, rear long travel shocks, nasty lift blocks & add a leaf, 35" tires, new wheels.

Pushing $8,000 in US, have no idea what this cost on an island.

All for the pleasure of a less stable ride and tendency to roll over on and off road.

You can spend less than than and have a very dangerous new truck.

For the price and quality, I think Rough Country makes a great 6-inch lift. I've been looking at it for a while, now. I've heard that their stuff isn't actually that bad at all. I've also heard that they do pretty well off-road and the ride feels better than factory. Recently, they've added Vertex Adjustable Coilovers and shocks with remote reservoirs. With all the best options added, it will add $1,500 and it will run you a total of $2,600 (obviously without shipping)

I second starting with a 3" lift. You'd be surprised how much that improves things even though it doesn't sound like much. 6" is a bit much. But, if you decide you still need more lift, you can sell your 3" lift stuff to help make up the cost.

Respectfully disagree. RC kits are not good.

A good rule of thumb is to abstain from recommending a product unless you have direct positive experience with it.

 

Unlimited budget I would get some long travel. But with the BDS kit offering Fox shocks thats the one I would look into. I have a buddy in guam and there seems to be a ton of wheeling spots around the island. Good luck in your choice

Yeah, to get any functionality out of a lift that big you’re solidly into five figure territory. Long travel ucas/lcas, custom CVs, new shock mounts and triangulated 4-link in the rear (or spring under conversion), lots of cutting, driveline work, regear, extended brake lines, etc, etc.

Even with the regearing it’s gonna be pretty gutless with huge tires, so you’ll probably want to have an extra $10k ready for a supercharger.

Of course, if budget really isn’t an issue and you want to ride super high, why not just snag a new first edition Bronco - a vehicle actually designed for huge tires - and be good to go?
