Maaaaaaaan there's a 96 lincoln mark 8 for sale for like $1300. I've been considering a beater car and have always liked these.

I had to Google what one looked like
Back in 2000, me and a buddy went down to Bike Week. My buddy decided to buy a Lincoln to turn it into a "Trick Daddy" car. We drove it from the east side of the state back to Daytona and left it at a shop to have it serviced while at bike week. We made it just outside of Daytona when the trans went. The guy apparently put saw dust in it just to give it some life. I've never laughed so hard in my life as he got in my Jeep and was bitching about the car. He left that thing on the side of the road

Yeah $1300 car would be a huge gamble.

Plus it would be a pain in the ass to get. Would have to get a u haul trailer. Buy straps because none of mine are strong enough for a car. 3.5 hours up to get it. 3.5 back. Return the trailer. Potential of being stranded while using said car.

I think about a gas sipper, but then I just like to enjoy what I drive. I also figured by the time I pay ins and extra maintenance, it'd be a wash.

Can't you drive a SXS on the road there? :D

Yes! You can! I would be the crazy idiot that drove one on the highway if I thought it would handle 1 hour of 75 mph

I actually just got street registration on my banshee quad lol

And you're totally right about the costs of 2nd car. The entire reason I bought the Taco over anything else was my confidence in racking up miles with little issue. So I should just go where I want, when I want in it

We can't have any of that shit on the road here. I've heard there's a company out of AZ that will title a SXS that allows you to register it in AL. There's a guy in North AL with a tagged one.

AZ does not care at all. They didn't even inspect the banshee. Just had to sign a paper saying it met the road requirements

With that being said, a "spare" car would be good as a "just in case". I could have used one while my studs were getting replaced on the truck.

Yeah it would be nice. Maybe I should buy a turbo side by side for just in case :)

That's what's so strange with AL. We don't have emissions or any of that shit. You go to the DMV with proof of ins/registration and you walk out with a tag
When I registered my DRZ, I just took a pic of the VIN, title, and proof of insurance. They didn't even need to see the bike.

They didn't even check the vin or insurance or anything. Write a check and out the door with a temp tag lol

I had a blast in moab with one. Would also be cool for sand hollow, toquerville falls, and whatever Flagstaff trails or forest service roads I find. I see them all over sedona too. The only bad part is I wouldn't have a garage for it. But I've been thinking hard about trading my speed triple in for one in 2021. I also know if a turbo model is really necessary.

The 60 hp teryx I rented was way too fast for moab. I think the higher hp twins are ~100 hp. Then the turbos up to 180 hp. It would be insane.

One that I really like the Yamaha. Can get it manual with clutch :)

My best friend has a RZR 1000 turbo. That thing is fucking insane. He's got it lifted with a set of 32 or 33's. He's been trying to get one to buy one for a while. I just can't afford it(with the truck and camper not being done), plus he's 2hrs away.

I do look for the RZR 800/900's once in a while though :D You can get a good one for around 8K here.

For the dunes I'd probably want the turbo model. So I'll probably hold out for one. I don't want to take out a loan on a toy but they're just so damn expensive.

No shit. This is what my buddy's looks like. He's got new a-arms/axles/wheels/tires and all that shit. He traded a Can-Am Commander and Victory motorcycle in on it, so not out of pocket too much.
