    Stupid amount of extra heavy metal all over
    Long shot, but if you're willing to split up the extra leaf springs and anyone is travelling from portland to the tacoma/seattle area, I'd take them off you to upgrade my dakars. (or I could stop adding weight to the back of my truck... but that's not going to happen)

    Looks like they were used as a protective case for some monitoring equipment that was removed. Probably traffic or weather monitoring gear. His company probably discontinued the use of that equipment and now he's flipping the cases.
