Just purchased a 2020 Tacoma. Curious on what people suggest as first mods? I plan on taking it on trails (nothing serious) and camping/overlanding!
    Thank you!!
Ps. Also what is a moderately cheap lift set up if I plan on running 275/70 17

    Welcome to TW.
    Cheap is spacers and blocks
Step up 1 notch to OME or bilstein 5100
    Then it gets kinda expensive

Ive read a lot about bilstein 5100 on here. What size lift do they offer?

1 to 3 inches typically depends on what clip setting you put them on. I recommend not going any higher than the 3ed clip, at that point just pair them with the correct one spring to achieve the lift with no compression (set clip on bottom 0).
Here this will explain more.. give it a read

Your stock springs need to be swapped on to these and you will need a aal or block for the rear to be level or keep the factory rake.
You may need to trim a little to fit that tire... may rub at full turn. But you should be ok to not need a cab mount chop

Sorry for so many questions, I am new to this and my knowledge on it is not the greatest.
So an aal is required even if the kit has rear shocks like the link i sent?

Shocks don't provide lift... springs do that... front coils, rear leaf pack

Okay that makes a lot more sense. With the bilstein 5100 and stock front coils i can get the front lifted anywhere from 0-3inches? Than ill need rear leaf packs to level it out correct?

Or a add a leaf or a 1 or 2 inch block. These are more of a simple solution and can have a terrible ride quality. A new leaf pack is the best way technically as you can evaluate the weight you carry and get the proper spring rate.

2-3" isn't too noticeable a drop on this truck, I won't be slamming it lol, not low riding...still PLENTY of clearance but my short ass won't have to jump to get it XD raising reduces towing capabilities btw so dropping 2-3" won't hurt me there any and again, ground clearance is still more than enough for what I do. I needed a lil truck and wanted 4x4 for when I tow a car. mostly just 'cause it's what I wanted ;)

If going this route would any trimming be required or no?

I've went the spacer lift route on my 1st truck, and now I have gone the "all new" suspension lift route on my current tacoma, and if I were you, I would try to save some money and go the suspension lift route all the way. The ride quality is night and day between the two. You really dont want to go the "cheap" route especially if the vehicle is your daily driver. I have a 2nd gen, but it looks like you have a 3rd, and I recommend you research through the 3rd gen/suspension forums, ask questions and learn about the different routes you can go.

Also as @Lt. Dangle mentioned, I would suggest going tires first. 265/70/17, or 265/75/16 depending on your preference, and a popular choice in TW. I have 265/75/16 and I really like them and they fit with no rubbing when I used to have stock suspension. Also if you plan on going aftermarket wheels, do your research on offset because that could affect rubbing of your tires. Hope that helps!
