Look up David Paulides and his missing 411 cases. This sounds identical.

Like everyone I wish for a safe return. I would also take this time to recommend if you go off the beaten path that you get yourself a InReach! I have rescued people who have sent off a SOS in less than 30 minutes. From hikers who have hiked 10 miles up a mountain and broke their ankle to people flipping their boat over and having nothing but the InReach that was clipped on them. If you have a Boat get yourself a Epirb. It goes off automatically if it hits water and floats. It really takes the search out of search and rescue.

12 days lost in a park and she just roadtripped back with her family? If she was lost she'd be most likely dead or heading for a long stay at the hospital getting pumped with saline, dextrose, and banana bags

Sounds more like a lack of communication on her plans or disconnected from the world without thinking to tell anyone

Ya kinda weird story. She had been traveling the country in a converted van visiting parks. Doesnt really sound like she was lost in zion when she was spotted.
