Oh interesting because the other user said he experienced it. So if you were to adjust the gain knob without the sub amp how would that sound? I’m just trying to not to justify my self a couple hundred more bucks for the sub amplifier.

You only get a gain knob with the sub amp. I had to control bass with the EQ

how would it sound though if you cranked the bass to max on head unit?
Because i feel like thats a secondary option as opposed to the sub amplifier.

I used to do it before I had the secondary amp (when I felt like it). Cranking it to max would make it equivalent to about 1/4 gain on the sub control. It would also put more bass thru the speakers.

Would you say the extra bass from the door speakers make up for the sub or?

When the weather was warm - it was tolerable. But my wife's GS350 definitely had more bass from the factory system. So I ended up buying the upgrade because I wanted more control.

Better question. What type of music do you listen to?

I listen to quite a variety; electronic, rap, pop and etc..
So i’m definitely trying to research about this system. I need all lows, mids and highs.

Get the separate sub amp. You'll thank me later.

The Focals have a sensitivity rating of 92db (I don't know what the OEM + is). But all you have to do is un snap the wires for one of the clips and the wires will reach. Honestly I don't understand why they didn't just put the wiring clip in the factory position.

Im looking at getting this system soon. Is the single amp enough for the speakers and single sub, or do I need an amp for each?
