Morning all

Tweeked my back on Saturday so I was in the chair most of the day, cat was on my lap, got up for dinner and he jumped in the chair. I could have moved him, but he looked comfy.

Remember this is the cat that woke me up at 0430

Glad you had a good crowd

 

Ooooff, back trouble, been there done that twice. Ice is your friend!!

 

Given this, I know what my course of action would have been.

But it sounds like the cat has you properly trained. Next step on your training schedule will be to get you to move out of the chair whenever the cat wants it.

evening all. somy kitchen light took a shit but bulbs-4 flour 3 footers didnt all die. could it be ballast -2 that are bad? 1 bulb black on one end.

 

If you're speaking of a 4 x 4' florescent housing, usually a ballast failure is clear and obvious across all the bulbs. That's how it's been for me in the past. Easiest way to prove is take a known good bulb showing full brightness in some other housing and swap it in, if it's dim then ballast is the most likely problem.

Once they get discolored, the bulbs are often gone.

Good chance to switch to LED but man oh man are those LED's pricey.

I go with costco led panels now and ditch the whole thing b/c the panel is about the price of 4 led tubes anyway and the ballast is a weak point plus efficiency and space waster.

EDIT: Quick google shows some enclosures may do separate ballast so 2 out 2 on could be ballast, still easiest way to troubleshoot is move known good to the spots with bad and see if it lights up all the way, if so ballast is good and bulbs are the trouble.
