BAMF shock relocation kit w/ 12” x 2.5” adj. kings. Deaver U402 leaf pack, w/u-bolt flip kit. OME driveshaft support bearing spacer. Aluminum oil filter housing w/fumoto valve. Braided Stainless Steel extended brake lines front and rear.

edit: guess I should state what all is new, some of it’s obvious, JBA UCA’s, and Kings up front, along with the needle bearing swap front drivers side. Driveshaft center support shim from ARB OME, dunno if it’s sufficient or not, probably gonna end up solid drive line. Hacked off original shock towers in the rear, and the original leaf shackles. Replaced with BAMF shackles, and relocation kit. Gotta give it to BAMF, I ordered the shackles last Thursday, and got them Friday evening, the night we started tearing the truck apart. Amazing! 12” 2.5 kings in the rear. Deaver leaf pack. Last but not least the SCS stealth 6’s all around, plus the spare!

Totally agree, Demello's powder coating SUCKS. This is from my FJ after only 2 NJ winters. Had to grind and repaint every spring. Sorry Jason I don't mean to be a dick but it is what it is. BajaRack is just as bad.

I've seen good welders use crappy units and do an excellent job then I've seen people with high dollar equipment do shitty work.
It takes practice and until you get proficient, have a grinder ready.
I use a little Harbor Freight fluxcore mig($200). It's not great but it does the job for me.

Add one. Don't weld galvanized without proper ventilation. The fumes from welding galvanized is bad stuff! If you do weld galvanized a glass of milk beforehand not a bad idea.

Wear shoes you dont care about (sparks fall on them and will burn them up), dont wear things that are flammable, WEAR A WELDING MASK, and just remember, your making metal very very hot and causing sparks to fly. Your going to get hit with little burning hot balls of metal, they will go in your shoes, they will get in your hair, and they will land on your hands/arms. You can get gear to cover all these things so you dont get burned, but if your just welding every once in awhile its not worth it and you can just brush them off. You'll end up with a few dozen little burns, but they heal up pretty fast.

Also, get welding blankets to cover anything near by. The sparks that fly while welding are small molten balls of metal. They will destroy anything they touch (paint and clear coat gets fucked by these sparks)

But, the most important thing is to wear the welding mask. Dont use sunglasses, dont use a torch mask, get a welding mask. You cant see shit with it on till you hit the arc. Welding without the mask will hard boil your eye balls and cause serious damage. You will get a sun burn on your face without a welding mask. The arc from a welder creates UV radiation that will cook your face very fast.

Most powder coat can’t hold up to a winter with heavy gravel use. The powder coat is too brittle, gravel just chips it, once chipped the salt on the bare metal does it’s thing. I’ve found the LineX product has enough flexibility it can withstand the gravel. It’s worthwhile where I’m from.

The entire tip does not come off as one piece, there is 2 piece metal ring that the tip tightens down on. You need to tap the lip of the metal ring towards the inside of the truck, then the tip will slide out.

I have installed a bunch of hardwire window controllers (cut and solder) and the modules for one touch up and down normally cost $50 with no plug and play Molex connectors. I am guessing that for the $50 that does not include the module which is pictured here:
The option descriptions of 2 single switches or 3 single switches just add to the confusion.....

The "coming soon" version that is tied into the key fob for remote operation should be the one to wait for in my opinion. Hopefully that comes out sooner than later and does not require an explanation on which version to order that takes longer than the time to actually install the unit in the truck!

Weathertech "Stone and Bug Deflector". Attaches under the hood in 6 of the 8 square holes with plastic inserts and stainless steel screws. This is different than the low profile "Hood Deflector" that only uses adhesive tape.

1st gen is what made me fall in love with these trucks. Always liked the lines of a first gen, but never owned one.

I have owned a 2nd gen '06, and now I have my 3rd gen Barcelona red SR5 which I love.
