Anybody else cooking today? Put this on at 7:30 am, just pulled it at 160* IT, wrapped with butter, brown sugar, and apple cider. Can’t wait for dinner!

 

So I went up 321 to blowing rock and boone and then cut across on some back roads and south to Morgonton and back to hickory on sat around noon. Lesson learned: don't ever do that again on a nice day, jesus where did everyone come from?!? So if I want to go hiking or driving around the mountains, what days and times are the best to go? Sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on two lane roads brings the suck.

 

Yeah weekends suck in Boone/Blowing Rock...you gotta go during the week.

South Mountain State Park isn't far....it's got some nice hiking trails.

 

Yep, don't even try it on a Fri-Sun this time of year.

 

I’ll second South Mountains State Park. Not very packed when I went, great trails and scenery.

 

Also, not sure how the leaves are up there but the leaves changing in fall is a big draw for some people. Might account for some of that traffic you hit. Orange leaves really tickle people’s pickle around here.

 

Any good recommendations for kitchen cabinets around the Charlotte area?

Kind of changing right now, nothing spectacular yet. I like looking at the leaves, but not enough to sit in crazy traffic lol.

I took the camry down some gravel roads, I realized I was in the danger zone as I didn't have a snorkle, a RTT, 800,000lumens of LED lights, traction boards, jerry cans and enough cooking supplies to make a 10course meal. I made it out alive, barely.....

On a serious note I'll probably take the rock crawler if I go back up there just so everybody in a crossover stops playing chicken with me on a narrow gravel road. A dented up, rusty wall of tube coming at someone generally gets them to move.

 

Thinking off the shelf that I can then add custom trim myself. Here is the kitchen layout we are thinking about with slide in stove in the island.

Hahahaha! I was telling her we wheeled her camry harder than 99% of TW. Probably had a lower air pressure in the tires!!
