Most people get 18-19 + on the hwy.

 

Mine gets around 15-16 combined, doing 75+ on the highway... Ive gotten 19 on the highway before. My buddy's 2020 gets about 20 but 3rd gens have a little different tune and shift spot

 

I'd like to get 20mpg on the hwy!

 

He gets that sweet spot as far as speed limit for his ride to work, 40 to 50 mph zones

 

Yeah, not sure about just on the highway; he mostly does back roads and around town. He's semi-retired at this point, so no commuting to speak of.

Whereas my F150 got 20+ most of the time, and my current truck averages about 14-16 when I'm not towing or plowing.

I'd do better if I didnt go as fast on my way to or home from work, and if I didnt have an exhaust and intake on the truck. Makes those nice v8 noises

Looks like 14mpg overall, obviously if you're doing long haul maybe you'll get better mileage overall. But as a daily driver. Yeesh.

One reason I didn't get the 5.0 F150. I drive my tacoma like a truck, slow off the line and usually slow along in the right lane. Passing only the fuddy duddys going 50 in a 70, etc. But I know I'd do a cutout on the 5.0 and have sweet sweet purrs to listen to when I wanted to. Adios, MPG...and I didn't need the capability/capacity anyway.

I use my truck as a DD because it fits all the boxes needed, I use the box enough to make sense, but I commute enough that an HD didn't make sense. So, here we are! I am definitely looking forward to the potential next gen with a hybrid. That might pull me out of my 3G early.

I'm with Noel, if I'm going to get 3/4 ton mileage, I'm getting 3/4 ton capability!

It also has the door jamb sticker that keeps it a 1/2 ton. We can argue real world capabilities about any of the current half tons but, when it comes down to legality, it's only rated for what the stupid sticker says.

Don't let the details get in the way of a good story! New, it's actually closer to a $10k option but, I didn't pay anywhere near that. After the accident last year, I made a really good deal on the black F250, then got a screaming deal on the current truck. All in all, I'm into this thing for less than most could buy an equivalent gasser.

I did notice about a 1mpg dip with mine right after I installed the Flowmaster, but that was more foot-related than anything.

 

Hey now, I brought home a bag of concrete mix last week.

I'm averaging 21.6 over the 6000 miles I've had my 3.5. Can't complain one bit about that. I think under the right conditions I could see 23-24 highway out of it, but I haven't really had it on a long enough highway drive to know for sure yet.

 

The sweet spot for mine was like 55-60mph.

 

Yea the Corsa catback with aFe super stock intake just sounds awesome. I got the truck to be able to tow my tacoma, which if i hadnt moved I'd have a 10k pound tilt deck trailer right now lol

Yea that sticker sucks, oh well. A good WD hitch and some bags does the tundra well.
