Went up to camp at badger lake and convinced the group to head through Bennett’s pass since I’ve seen this thread post a lot about it. Was not disappointed in the trail, the views, or the capabilities of the stock suspension set up of this truck.

I’m not big on pictures when I’m out so I asked the group send me some of the one they took. Not bad at all.

Yeah, saw that! Could be fun. Lol. I’m guessing that it won’t be enough to make it adverse though. But will be careful.

They’re actually predicting 3.5” of snow Friday afternoon at 4900 ft.

Damn, looks like Saturday was the day to hit bennet pass! I went up on Sunday, and it was raining and cloudy the whole time, we ended up going down to badger lake, still beautiful. Trucks fully stock and aired down to 21 psi, pretty amazing the capabilities of these trucks stock.

I’ve been watching the forecast. Trying to figure out if that is enough to cause concern or just make it fun?

My gut is telling me the snow isn’t deep enough to impact traction. The first person will just need to be going fast enough to dig thru to the gravel and dirt.

3"-6" of snow isn't much of a hurdle for a stock Tacoma and a sensible driver.

If your own confidence is low with stock tires, maybe carry some light truck chains with ya.

With that, I think I still have two sets of Alpine chains (or whatever the quick fit style is) that will fit the stock 3rd gen Tacoma tires that I won't be needing now that I have 33" shoes.

    Good advice!
Just knowing this is early season snow and having hunted that area quite a bit with early season snow, I don’t anticipate any issues. I’d be surprised if it gets Packed down before it melts in the trail.

Looking like we will have a good sized group on Saturday!
I’ve been watching the snow forecast and it looks like the chance of snow is less now than a few days ago. Also a chance of some clearer skies on Saturday! Looking forward to a group run!
