I went in for my last free oil change and had them look at my frame for inspection. I got a letter in the mail stating my frame was in question and to get it inspected by the dealer. Came back 5 minutes later and said my frame qualified and its covered? Service manager also said that if you don't get the fluid film on your frame.... "You May" not qualify down the road for frame replacement due to rust?? It takes approx 2-3 days and I get a free loaner car. I requested a truck, so we will see how that goes. I will keep everybody posted on results after next week.

Hopefully it won't take that long. Had mine done at Team in Glen Mills and it took only a day.

Mine gets done Wednesday at Brewer Toyota in Moon Twp., Pa. Getting a 3rd Grn Tacoma as a loaner. Told them if they gave me a Tundra Crewmax as a loaner I might be persuaded to buy one, they said they didn't have one to loan. LOL

I called to schedule my 55k checkup on my '17, I asked about the letter in the mail. He checked my VIN and told me mine was coated from the factory and just needs plugs installed, so they ordered the plug kit for my app next week. Wonder what that means?

So got my truck back already, could not spray inside the frame rails due to blocked access (bolt on sliders and skid plate cross member). Was informed that I could remove said items and get the work done, but the plugs would most likely interfere with re installing sliders and cross member.

    So my options are

remove stuff, get sprayed, then remove plugs after

do nothing and void warranty of frame replacement

or just never put my sliders/skids back on

    good thinking

they spray inside the frame rails and then plug the holes to keep junk out

Where did you take it? @skatefreak282 didn't have to remove anything to get hers done. Might check with her.

I’m saving all this money for programing, software, and tunes/etc...

just wondering if it’s all worth it... or whether it’s just worth the price to pay a more nominal fee for someone to do it...

I want better response on the pedal, but also want max MPG now that it’s my commuter vehicle...

I figured if I bought the whole thing I could just choose back and forth if I change up Octane/etc...

just trying to wrap my head around all of it...

It’s worth it. It’s not worth it to have some random tuning shop do it since they likely have 0 experience with tuning these monstrosities

I have the kit. The truck drives way better now! I have been running 93FOB since August, and I love it! I am seeing 2-3 MPH increase.

    Get this - https://www.ovtuned.com/collections/vf/products/vforest-tuner-software-flash-cable

Then - find someone who have the same ECU ID as your, you can get the tune pack from the person for $150 or so. That's what I did. Saved me lot of money! You would save about $400!

I had my frame sprayed a couple year ago. It was done in the winter and w/ the cold weather, it took almost a week to dry. They called me after it had been sitting for the 2nd day of drying and they said it was ready. Showed up on the morning of day 3 and it was still soaking wet. I wouldn't accept it. They agreed to park it inside one of the bays for a few days. All-in-all, I think it took a week to dry.
Point is, get it done during warmer weather while you can!
