Shortage of trucks here in CA. Got my 2021 TRD OR a three weeks ago ("ordered" in July). -$2K off MRSP. It is somewhat of a unique build with factory Tonneau and the Advanced Tech package - cameras, etc. (beyond the standard tech). Dealer literally went through every option with me and I got to spec which was awesome. I got the exact truck I wanted for the price I was willing to pay so I'm happy.

Just as FYI, new TRD Pro's here are going for ADM (I was told $10-$20K markup which is just absolutely nuts) and used TRD Pros I've seen on the market for $49K with 20k miles on them. This place never ceases to amaze me.

 

Good but not quite as good. Lot of ins and outs with the deal. 8.3% off MSRP. But they gave me $600 over Kelley blue book private party sale for my trade in. Also, on every other one around here they had $700 paint protection film and $400 nonsense Toyoguard added into the price as Port Installed options. Southeast Toyota Cartel. No one else would take those off. They agreed to allocate The truck before it hit port and tell them to not install anything. Also, I wanted cement with absolutely zero options but had to have the black interior with orange stitching. Really rare. So all of that saved me money on the final number. Pulled the trigger at the end of April right when the Covid car craze was just starting to hit. Altogether maybe 10-11% off range. I didn’t have quite as much patience this time. Probably a good thing though because if I had waited much longer I probably wouldn’t of gotten as good of a deal.
Got some new shoes today.

 

Just picked up my first Tacoma & truck! Got a 2021 Cement TRD Off Road DCSB 4x4 with LED and Tech packages at $40,460 MSRP. Used costco to get that down to $37,463 + TTL.

 

If you are looking for the pro in SoCal. You can order it through Longo Toyota at MSRP. The guy I worked with was Fred. Others have said there are not good deals on other Tacos but it works well for the pro.

We have it rough in Southern California, made a 2.5 hour drive East to Yuma, AZ to get a discount off MSRP. Kudos to Alexander Toyota for the fair price and professional, trouble free sale.

 

A few others have said this but it seems like we could start a business importing Tacos to SoCal.

Just picked up an SR5 Silver, V6, Access Cab, with Technology Package, all weather mats and sill liners, rubber bed mat, and black oval running boards for $35,441

 

Thank you for sharing the lead. I ended up getting what I wanted - I wasn't really in the market for the Pro, but always kept it open. Its a nice special edition, but for what I wanted to do with my truck, didn't give any value over an OR (and didn't come in the color I wanted).

 

Here at So. Cal. So I have been looking at SR5 AG, double cab, the price of $36,900, tech package, predator tube steps, trail addition. $41,XXX OTD. Is it an okay deal? I really like this truck, should I bite?
Another dealer had a market $1995 on same vehicle!

 

Hey sorry for the late reply, I am still figuring out how this site works etc. I wound up going through my Credit union, and traded in a 2005 ford ranger so that helped with the downpayment and payment. We also bought TWO cars a RAV4 and a Taco. And they were bunched together into ONE single payment, so the numbers might be a tad off for me, and just built into the RAV, if that makes sense. I still feel like I got a great deal.

 

It appears more volume on the 2021's is starting to come in at least by So Cal standards. I use the inventory search on Toyota.com and searching San Diego and Riverside/Orange County. Tacoma groups Roverside and OC counties together for some reason at least with the zip codes I use to search.

I have been tracking OR, 4x4, DCLB options with and without the Premium DC Package (I want an OR, 4x4, DCLB with Premium package but cannot afford full MSRP). San Diego isn't seeing a boost yet, but Orange County and Riverside as of today now have a landslide listing of 45 trucks matching. I was lucky to see 10-15 return in the searches all summer.

Hoepfully this is a good sign of a new supply trend and we will start seeing higher discounts off MSRP.

 

I think there are several of us here in SoCal looking. Could we work with the same dealer/rep and get a group discount perhaps? It just takes one dealer to start discounting; however, it’s like they all have some agreement not to come off msrp.
