If anyone is local, my friend doesn't want the SCX10ii. Let me know if interested. Body is beat up, but everything works good and has upgraded servo.

Set to arrive today (day early). Woot

Waited around for the mail to come to bring the car out but kids were getting antsy so we left. 3 min after we left I see this on our cameras. Dammit.

Finally took the Senton out today and holy shit this thing is fun. 3s is stupid fast and nice to have a car that won’t flip instantly (stupid twin hammer). Maybe some other Senton owners can chime in but throttle response is slow. Sometimes takes a good amount of throttle to get it going. Guess I’m used to the Savage which will flip instantly.

It's nothing too fancy. It's TRX 4 crawler kit with stock electronics and a metal steering dogbone. I removed the rear fender liners and installed a cantilever suspension, a low cg battery tray (that's not low enough), and trimmed up the front fender liners.

The body is bolted on in the front but in need to add magnets or some sort of latch for the rear since I don't want to have to unscrew the body to get to the battery and power switch. This way it tips up and I can access everything.

I'll get some better pics when it's done but it's getting closer. Got the front bumper installed today and started on the wiring for the lights.

Gotcha. If you move the Rx and ESC to the battery tray is there enough room to fit a ‘stick’ battery on each slider? Run them by the single or in Y together.

I’ve had good luck with velcro vs magnets. I get the big 2” wide strips in the hardware section of Lowes/Home Depot/etc and cut them to fit.

At this point relocating ESC and going with a dual battery would be more work. If I was starting with a bare chassis that would be a good route but I think I can fab a battery tray fairly easily.

Good tip on the velcro...I have some already so I'll give that a shot before buying magnets.

You can cut the Velcro to the shape of a mount or bracket. Add a 1” circle or square plate for it on the chassis and increase the surface area of it.

Welp.. dipped into the RC world. Did some research and settled on the SCX10-II Honcho. Plan to replicate my Tacoma but SAS'd. Read up on batteries, chargers, parts, etc. It'll be a slow, budget (haha) build. Of course I should of known there was an RC section on TW

Building an exact duplicate is not easy especially if you've never done anything RC. Since it was my first attempt it Took me 7mo to build sourcing 1/9 scale parts or having them made. Lots of work but worth it in then end for me. After I was done I bought the Traxxas URD to bash around. Lol
Great choice you got to get you started.

I've seen some of those MFab trucks. I'll have to keep them in mind for details I can't make. Saw your build, that's awesome. I'm not going for exact, just close haha.

There's lots of people who have or can print small scale parts. I went with Mfab because he had the only true 3rd gen body. I have a wide body version I may work on this winter? Just something to do during the rainy/snowy months. Look forward to your build and thanks.:hattip:
