Literally all the saleman I have worked with before finding the right Tacoma were blown away by it. Could be a premium/tech package thing only

    None. Yet...
It's definitely an option reserved for the premium package. I looked at a few before deciding on the TRD OR with premium and advanced tech package.

Here in Kentucky, they know I'm a carry concealed before they even approach the car when they run my tag before they interact with me (btw, only been stopped twice, not a habitual offender). CCDW is tied to vehicle registration. They always ask me if I'm carrying before they even ask for my ID. Pretty solid system actually.

I had the magnet but wondered if it would hold in a crash. Plus I wanted extra magazines available. Been pulled over twice while carrying. With both hands on the wheel, I explain to the officer where my gun(s) are and had no problems....also got no ticket! And one answer to the "why do you feel the need to carry" is "have you been watching TV lately?"

Another tip... After stopping and shutting off the engine, when you open the door and get the door ajar chime, just press the rubber covered door switch/sensor in the b pillar half way up the door. It will turn off the chime with the door still open. Great for at the gas station filling up with the driver door left open.

Yea, but when you open the door the engine cuts off! I haven't tried to hit it 3 times with the door open though:notsure:
Going to have to try that out tomorrow!

Nope! Won't even let you hit the lock button once with the door open! Sets off a constant alarm tone. :pumpkin:

I have a 2017 OR 4x4 in blazing blue. The picture on the roll and pitch of the truck is gray. I was wondering if there is a way to switch that to match the color of my truck.

Just keep in mind, you can't lock the truck and it can be driven away. I tested this with my truck after seeing it happen to a Silverado. Thus the safety feature for the remote start.

I'm referring to the people who don't have it and want to warm up their vehicle in the morning. You can start the truck and walk away, but you can't lock the truck and it can be driven away without the key present. That's why the push button start vehicles have the shut-off when you open the door after remote starting it.

I believe the door chime only dings if you open the door before you shut the engine off. If you Turn off THEN open the door, no chime...

I don’t know. My last truck had remote start and a push button starter. And it didn’t shut off when you unlocked it. You had to have the key fob in with you and hit the start button before you could drive. Kind of a weird feature on the new Tacos if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it is a great system. But as I said, with the truck running, you can drive it away. And yes, I have tested this after seeing it happen with a Silverado. How that was overlooked is beyond me. Granted, I didn't drive it a mile down the road or anything, but the key was plenty far away.

I'm not entirely sure, but if your tire is coming into contact there, you have other issues going on. It's actually pretty out of the way.
