That’s a pretty cool setup. I have an outlet above my microwave where I can plug them in and just drop the wire out the bottom of the cabinet. The countertops and backsplash completely changed my kitchen. I’m glad I did those too.

I want to do the microwave over the range but I need to cut my cabinets down in order to make it work and would need to either run a pipe up to vent or it’s on an exterior wall so vent to outside if possible. Long term plans lol.

I need to figure out our kitchen layout like a month ago! Wife is going crazy without a kitchen. Thinking a island with slide in stove.

Are you renovating your kitchen too? I just want to replace the counters with quarts or granite with a white subway tile backsplash with undermount lighting and a new drop-in sink. I might switch to an undermount sink though, I'm still up in the air on that. Cabinets would get a fresh coat of paint with new door bumpers. This'll lead into new paint throughout the house. I'm guessing I'd be in at about 5-7k ballpark. The countertops will be the most expensive item on the list. The sink and lights and backsplash sounds like a fairly easy enough project to tackle. It'll give me an excuse to use my HVLP sprayer.

I'd recommend yall shop for car insurance. I just switched from Geico to Progressive and it went down over almost 40% for identical coverage.

Ours vents out the top of the microwave. Once it needs replacing I’ll install a better hood and vent it outside. It’s better and safer.

Yeah, my range is on an exterior wall so it makes no sense to not vent it to outside, I dunno if someone makes a microwave one that will do that, but it would be sweet if there was.

I think an island with a flat top range/oven would work great in that layout. Depending on how close you put the island, you may bump into someone whos trying to use the sink or dishwasher, but I don't think it'd be that bad.

Will have 40” between sink and stove, 48” between refrigerator and island, and 36” between island and hallway wall.

Yes there is, last one we bought, all I had to do was switch around a flapper inside the back, for it to pipe up through the duct to outside, vs. blowing the exhaust back in the kitchen. They may all have that option, not sure though.....

I think Clemson is becoming more and more a favorable University for my daughter to go in 11 years if they keep turning out professors like the ones I have been seeing lately.

A couple of things concerning kitchen remodels, I went thru this already 2 years ago.
We rarely use the microwave but installed it above the stove to maintain counter space. The contractor acted like we didn't need to vent to the outside. So when he was done, we had another guy run a stove vent out to the roof. He hacked up the newly installed cabinets to run the vent tube and cut a new hole in the roof when there was an old vent already there he could have tied in to. I had to get creative to cover up the hack job. Granted you could only see it if opening the cabinet above the microwave but still. Be aware of what's already there.

Under cabinet lighting, I went with light bars daisy chained together. Just a simple plug on that I cut off the plug and hardwired it. They make a switch that's half switch/half plug. So I still get an outlet there. Then used a cable hider to hide the cable coming from the switch to under the cabinet. Behind the tile would have been really clean but I wanted to make sure I could remove it all if necessary.

On a side note, what the hell is up with FN Wheels?!?! I've emailed, texted and called Dustin to order some Overlander wheels for the 4Runner. He was emailing back pretty quick until I said I wanted to order them. Then silence. I even waited a week after the last email. Nothing.
