It's the factory wheels. They have a TON of backspace. I have no idea why Toyota did this on the OFF ROAD model, but meh...

    Nice evolution!

I'm curious about those tires... I've not heard of "treadwrights" nor have I run caps (they are recaps right?) before.

How are they in moderate wet / soft soil / muddy conditions? They look like they would do well in snow too... yes? / no?

Did they spin balance up easy? Require much in the way of weights? What's the odo life expectancy? What's your trucks favorite road surface...

Good grief... sorry for the tsunami of questions... LOL

no UCAs. i did add the top plate. and thanks!!

    OK lol lets see here...

    1. yes, they're re-treads. I had their A/T tires before and they were incredible. I did lots of research and read pages and pages of reviews before diving in, i absolutely love their tires and customer service. when i ordered my A/T tires, one came with a tiny gash in the side, i sent them pics and they shipped out a 5th tire right away, so that's my spare now.

    2. extremely good in muddy/wet conditions, decent in soft soil, they tend to bury themselves a bit. snow? no idea, i'm assuming they're going to be terrible, most M/T are, but we'll see here in a few weeks, I'll keep you posted.

    3. balance was no problem for 3 of them, only about 4oz each, but one tire was way the hell off, needed something like 30oz. ODO? had my last pair for 7,000 and i barely lost any tread. these are only about 2,000 old so it's hard to say, but most reviews out there are saying 40,000-50,000

    4. favorite road surface? mud ponds and loose gravel, eats that shit up. but a day in the life of my tacoma includes about 25mi of highway driving, on which these tires also perform very well.

Hey, these tires look awesome! I was thinking of getting some, but how were you able to choose the sidewalls? I was looking at the TreadWright website, and don't see an option.

nvm, I looked at the website further and found the answer. They don't have much in stock on their website though. Did it take long for you to get yours?

update :: as expected they're pretty awful in snow lol we had about 2in with some ice underneath and they were slippin pretty good. i didn't have to go into 4x4, just took it nice and slow. i imagine with some sand bags in the back they'd do just fine, but i'm gonna wait til next storm to make that decision

Hey man, love the look of your rig. It's gonna take some time, but I'm trying to go in a very similar direction. Hope it comes out half as nice.
