    Goodyear makes black tires, Michelin makes round tires! This saying has been around almost as long as pneumatic tires. And there’s a reason.

    What makes a quality tire is consistent production. Goodyear lacks consistency in their quality control. You can see it in their reviews on any site. Some people have good luck with them, many don’t. I never had problems with mine for the 5,000 miles they were on the car, but I know that they can be hit or miss.

    Manufacturers like Michelin and cooper have very consistent reviews because they have very consistent products. In the racing world, some manufacturers are know for short life but incredible grip and are purchased for that consistency.

    It’s something you might want to keep in mind before you assume that it’s someone’s driving behaviors. Obviously you lucked out, not everyone did. With such a clear case of consistency issues with the factory tire, criticism of driving style only shows a lack of knowledge.

    i mean. Every one drives differently as well with different terrain. so thats a major factor too. im not a goodyear fan but they all have their issues. Ive seen bad things with coopers, Firestone, Bridgestone, contis, etc. Very rare to see Michelin have any issues.

    I couldn’t agree more! I even replaced my tires with falkens which also has some Known consistency issues. However I have decades of experience of racing with their on-road tires and took a chance. One of their issues were balancing, and mine balanced up well, so I’m hopeful.

    But thank you for supporting my point that you shouldn’t blindly blame the driver.

    Good post, also;
    There are only two major American-owned tire manufacturers: Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Each of them has multiple manufacturing plants in the U.S. So any tire with the name Goodyear or Cooper on it can be sold as American-made.
    Note: Some of the inexpensive brands of these companies are not made in america. Check the tire first.

    I’m not saying they are the best tires but the OP has a 2020... they can’t be that bad!

    I always use a hydrophobic wax on my glass. It sheds water and dirt, stays much clearer, and will help the wiper blades last longer. Yes, I use the same wax use on the rest of the body.

    If you read a few threads on here, you will find that yes, yes they can be that bad.

    I've been a Cooper dealer in Georgia, Oklahoma, and Missouri. I've done more Goodyear takeoffs than any other tire. Coopers are awesome and some of my customers (cars) got 95,000 with good alignment and religious rotation. Balance was never a issue. Michelins are the same. Some Goodyear's I mounted took 6-9oz of weight on a new tire. That's just insane sloppy quality control.

    So - I think I'm gonna take of my PRO grille off and put the Stock one back on now that everyone and their Grandma has one.

    What did you use to paint the Chrome ring around the main grille? Its a gloss grey and the ring I'm thinking black? Plastidip? Krylon??
