What is wrong with the OE suspension?

Nothing. OP was just thinking the OR suspension might be a little nicer than what comes with the SR (he's right)

Do it. It's worth the effort. Keep in mind coils are side specific.

I wouldve just bought Bilstein 5100 and Old man EMU coil springs to give your tacoma a 2 inch lift and better quality set of shocks. Just look at the difference, oem trd offroad shocks on the left, and Bilstein 5100s on the right

OE is so stiff, it handles like a go-cart. Fun in the corners, but it's a crappy ride on rough roads.

I agree with this, at the very least you learn how to do the install with factory stuff which is way lighter than aftermarket then you can make a decision later to upgrade. Should you want to upgrade it will go so fast installing them because you learned all the tricks and links in your truck the first time. Toll me 4 hours on my first side and like 1 hour on the other but I also replaced wheel bearings too. There’s a ton of videos on how to change all this stuff out online for our vehicles so that’s nice.

I noticed a big difference in smoothness of the ride even on streets when going from an sr5 to an or. I would say definitely worth it.

Keep in mind that a majority of the parts pictured are identical to what are already on the truck. It would be a huge waste of time IMHO to remove a pair of perfectly good stock UCAs and install an identical pair of used stock UCAs. It’s a major PITA to get those bolts out.

For the UCAs, yes. For the shocks, no.

GREAT VIDEO and best way to do it without any extra tools/spring compression etc.
