Yeah, except I also have the DD SAE fogs on each side. Another 6" or horizontal airspace blocked. I tend to agree it won't be an issue, especially in our climate, but the one Sprinter thread I found with someone having code issues related to temperature was a dude in AK. Go figure.

I have some limited fab skills, but I figured out how I can do it. I'll just use some plate steel and probably rivets to attach the light mounts. The way it is designed having bolts sticking through the mounting plate limits the location because there is only a narrow slot for them to drop into. Rivets (or if I could frigging weld (grr) solves that problem.

Pretty positive I'm going with the 20" bar (and I'm stocked to see what it puts out!). Just waiting to hear from Memario1214 now. He was great with another set of lights I bought, highly recommend him to anyone considering a purchase.

I am still curious to hear from Baja Designs though as too what actual LEDs are used in the LP6 and LP9's. How many racers and such. How are they allocated to far, near, and midfield?

If need be is putting some holes in the factory bumper for additional airflow an option?

What does air in the lower opening flow to anyhow? I can’t see the grille opening not being enough.

I’m sure you’re not but just to make sure I hope you’re not referring to my output pictures as my onx6 is a 40” and a hi power so it puts out around 8k more lumens then the 40” onx6+. A 20” onx6+ will put out a little more then half of what my 40” does, 24,920 vs 46,600

LOL, no I know that bar you have is a monster :). Wonder why they did away with the hi power? Still, I'm sure the almost 25K lumens from the 20" bar will be WAY better (twice as good :)) as what I'm getting from the 10" bar.

What I do wonder though is how the 20" bar at just under 25L lumens would look side by side to (2) LP9's at 22K lumens, or even how the LP6's compare falling somewhere between the 10" and 20" bars lumen wise? Assuming you weren't aiming the LP's at some odd outward angle, would you easily be able to tell the difference between the bars and the LP's (not including the foreground and lateral light the LP's would give with the IPT - I'm talking about 1/3 of the way out to where the light falls off).

As too the other aspect, I think what's behind the bumper step opening is the intercooler. There are multiple vendors that sell light mounts for that area and I've seen plenty of images with lights there too. I doubt they are "all show, no go", but sometimes people take "cool pictures" of crap that doesn't last long, or is just a temporary placement. I posted a thread on the Sprinter forum and everyone who responded had no issues including a dude from Florida.

I think you're nuking it man. Just pick something that fits and pull the trigger.

I hear you....nuking my brain for sure :). I'm there really, and unless the clear lens on the 10" makes some radical difference I'm going with the 20". It "fits", no problem, even some room to spare. That's not the issue, the issue is will it cause problems? I guess time will tell. I'm confident that 20" will (more than?) meet my lighting needs. Then I'll have experience with the difference of the 10" and 20" bars so the lumen difference between the LP6 and LP9 will be more familiar to me.

If I knew for sure (2) LP6's would get me where I wanted to be I'd probably just do that and not worry about airflow. I just think the output isn't that much greater then the 10" bar and I have no idea how it compares distance wise to the 20" with the 4 Racer LEDS.

The only advantage I see going to LP9s is they’d be mounted higher and that helps but I still think the 20” is where it’s at. Then the grille space can be utilized for something more specific like racers or lasers if you feel the need down the road.

The onx6+ bars are actually brighter then the hi power line up to 30” but fall short after that because the 40” and longer hi powers use 2 power inputs, one off each end of the bar. Theoretically if they built the onx6+ bars with 2 power inputs like mine the 40” would be 49,840 lumens compared to my 46,600. I wonder if @Baja Designs could incorporate the new components into my current bar giving me the best of both worlds lol.

    @Baja Designs

I’ve been trying to get a quote from Baja designs since last week. I’ve sent multiple emails, 1 to Brennan 1 to the Info email, and tried calling the vender line yesterday and the phone range and range and range.

Does anyone know if anything is up with BD?

It could just be random luck on my part, lol.

    PB FAB.

Paul's not in sales anymore. He unfortunately can't help.

Try Jeffrey Jaramillo<jeffrey@bajadesigns.com> if you absolutely want to get in touch with BD directly, and can't get through on the phone.

Thanks, I’m a dealer with a resale license. Not a listed vender on this site.

Just wanted to make sure they didn’t disappear like some other companies...

Does anyone have any good pics of the BD Squadron R Sport fogs mounted in their CBI 3rd Gen Baja Series front bumper? Ideally with security hardware? Just wanted to see if I can get a good visual of how others have mounted and what security/anti-tamper hardware people are using or recommend. thanks in advance

    Hello,
Brennan is a dealer sales manager and usually does not process retail sales, but I'm surprised that you were left unanswered either way. He was at the Sand Show in AZ last week, which is likely why you missed him.

Best way to purchase is through our site, or one of our many dealers. You can use the forums discount code for 10% off and you'll have your price right in the shopping cart :). I suggest purchasing through a BD dealer that also supports TW so that you can spread the love a little bit and likely get a quicker answer from a retail focused shop.

Alternatively, you can call our sales line at 800-422-5292 to connect with a retail sales associate if you need additional advice/assistance. Again, surprising that your call went unanswered.

We are indeed super busy right now and will likely continue to be so through the holidays. Sorry you are having trouble getting in touch - but please remember we are still a small operation with a small staff for retail support.

    Thanks for your patience!

I’m a dealer with you. I’ll try contacting him again thanks. Thanks for the reply.

    I can answer this one.

Unfortunately no pairs available aside from the "backup kits", and they will sell you the flush mount bezels for ~$20apiece. A guy could fashion together a "flush kit" with a wiring harness for you, but there is no formal SKU for it that I am aware of.
