Are you planning on moving in high range or does just 1 case in lo make your new hi haha. 37s, heavy truck, auto, 2.7.... oof Poor auto is gonna have to burn against the converter for a minute to get it to stall and move haha

 

i mean...itll still kind of move in high range

each wheel is only 5lbs heavier. wont even notice a difference

ill just only do california stops, never fully stopping at lights or stopsigns

Honestly, I'd do both. Especially for your drivetrain and 37s.

Taking a trip up to the bighorns Friday with some friends to go camping. Then swing by Yellowstone before heading back home. Yes we know it’s going to be cold, no we don’t care we are still going camping. But with that being said what are some things to see or do up in the area? We are kinda just going with the wind and not really planning anything.

 

I think it snowed like a foot in the big horns this weekend. Have you checked? Yellowstone is being pounded right now.

Yeah I’ve checked, we realized that it’s gonna be cold and snowing but we just want to get out of Laramie for a while. Even if it means we get up there and have to drive a while to find a camping spot If the one we want to go to ends up being closed or inaccessible.

 

is this before or after fixing everything wrong with it?

I think regearing and then a 2nd tcase with just the standard gears is the best way. 4.7s aren't needed that way. Then you can just do a build with a much more affordable 2nd tcase setup.

Well the big horns look like they are going to get a lot more snow. So not sure anything I'd tell you to do will even be accessible. But if you're coming from Laramie then go to Sheridan and try Red Grade road into the mountains. some good stuff there and thats a nicely maintained road(not plowed mind you) so be your best bet there.

Nothing by Yellowstone will be accessible I bet now either. But plenty to see/do just in the park. Can't remember if you can camp there or not due to covid..

Honestly Id just head west to southwest CO or into UT if you just need an escape. Be more fun and way better weather.

 

I suppose you get that luxury with a trailered rig. Regearing is the only part of the crap im preparing for right now that I'm not ready to do myself. But I'll find a way to get it done, cause I'm sure as hell not gonna putz around on 35s with 4.10, fuck that slow noise and heavy load.

 

Yeah we plan on going on a trip to Utah later in the year or early next year since most of my friends haven’t been to some of the national parks there. We also figured this would be a test run to see if we would like to do a winter trip later. I guess it’ll be one of those things we get up there and see what is accessible. We are honestly kind of excited with how cold it will be

 

no thats what im doing. the front case will be the standard 2.28 double box case w/adapter into my stock case. a 4.7 case would be unnecessary.

the trailer'd rig is a nice luxury indeed. im just still putzing along on my factory 4.56s

we just had tenants move into the house, and their rent is $100 short of covering the mortgage plus ins/taxes...so we just pay utilities and we're rent free lol! (putting thousands into fixing things up now but thats...necessary) so i feel like i have a bit of spending cash this winter lol

probably. If marlin has one in stock id get it from them, but some stuff is out atm

 

Id be more tempted to raid a junk yard if possible then just get the TG adapter.
