Redline custom leather shift and e-brake boot. VFTUNE Super Full Otto cycle, octane learning, premium fuel.
No it does not degrade air fuel ratios. It actually makes the engine more efficient.

Tons of people have this tune all over the country (especially in California), but I've never seen anyone say anything about not passing smog testing. I seem to remember several folks saying that they had a tune installed and got through smog without a problem.

Worst comes to worst, flashing back to the stock tune is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes.

I’ve passed emissions in both NC and TN with the tune. Neither used a sniffer, just plugged into diagnostic plug.

I recently had 2.0 installed and updated the TSB it is awesome a complete 180 from the way the truck drove before. It no longer feels like a turd gen

from anyone that’s done it have u tried the tune with a cai and catback exhaust

would they mess with the change in air fuel ratios from the tune

I just put a k&n drop filter in and the truck ran noticeably different for the worse and I wasn’t sure if it would do the same if I added those down the line
    Thanks

Was it oiled? Sometimes oiled filters can mess with the MAF sensor by coating it and causing a burnt build up on it.

Usually it's only over oiled filters that I've heard doing that frequently, like when folks re-oil they think more is better...I mean it's possible a factory oiled one could have done it but I wouldn't think putting a dry filter in without cleaning the MAF would resolve it (just fyi the MAF actually heats up and the ecu can tell how much air comes in via the resistance which changes depending on it's temp...more air in = cooler sensor).

Maybe they cleaned the MAF too...when I was a tech even with dry filters the MAF would eventually get build up and dirty and that's from years of buildup but it came off with a quick spray of intake cleaner, takes longer to unscrew the MAF than to clean it even those with old buildup...sometimes you can get the spray on it without removing it too while replacing the filter. Well glad it's running good now though.

Can someone explain to me how to GET the VFTune software?
I purchased the software months ago plus the 3.5L pack so about $730 usd.
I eventually found directions to get the toyota flash manager which i mistakenly thought was what I had bought (boy was I feeling bummed out!) but hey, I had access to the 1.05 tune which seems to work very well.
Then I realized after moving that I didn't even have the actual software I had purchase when I started looking into the 2.0 version.
After randomly clicking on the receipt I found it did in fact link (through a link that gave ZERO indication it led to a download) to VFTune, but you need a master/serial number to register.
I understand you're SUPPOSED to be emailed said serial...but I have never received such.
I have emailed support, and despite being even GIVEN the VFTune 2.0 pack, they never responded despite multiple request tickets to my request for a serial number.
    So, I now have a tune pack I can't install because I have a tuner program I can't actually install/run because I don't have a serial number to install/register with.
I have, so far, spent $730 for nothing that I can tell, CERTAINLY not the actual products listed on the website and I'm almost to the point of hiring a lawyer or contacting the Feds regarding business fraud...but there are SO MANY PEOPLE here who have had success with orange virus...so what the heck is going on for me? Any advice?

It is extremely likely that the email with your vF Tuner master key went to your spam folder. We had a problem with our emails going to spam automatically for everyone, which we only recently figured out how to fix.
PM me your email, or order number, and I will find that email that was sent to you.

SO, Am I to understand there is no Preset tunes in the new VFTune that replaced the OV tune and the flash tunes? I read this...
"VF TUNER COMES WITH CERTAIN "EXAMPLE" FILES. THESE FILES MAY BE AN EXAMPLE OF HOW TO DO SOMETHING IN THE SOFTWARE AND EXAMPLE OF ONE OF OUR EROMS (ENHANCED- ROMS) WHICH HAVE EXCLUSIVE FEATURES LIKE MAP SWITCHING, OR GEARLOCK FUNCTION FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
TO ENSURE CUSTOMERS CAN USE THESE FEATURES WITHOUT WORRY, EXAMPLES THAT HAVE THIS CODE OR TABLE CONTROL SET-UP IS PREPARED FOR YOU."
Does that mean some of the "flash" or tunes mentioned in other threads will be available to use, "AS A TEMPLATE" to create my tune for my truck? I just want the shift lag and gear hunting to stop. I like what ppl said about OVtune and I was excited to look it up, only to be disappointed that its no longer sold. I don't want to have to "create my tune". I want to call on the expertise of YOU guys, the ones that create tunes for that knowledge. Who can help me? I really just need a tune done. Anyone near SE to Central Wisconsin that can assist?

    Order #7537
    Purchased: VFTune 2.0 pack/software $499.00, Tactrix OBD cable $180.60
    Bought: 11/08/20
    Received: 11/21/20
    Flashed: 11/21/20 (04B81_Reg_Stock.vft)
    Flashed: 11/28/20 (04B81_MD87_M+W3.1_Reg_Stock.vft)
Tune details: AT v2.0 final vft/M+W 3.1 Reg Stock file
    Overall rating: 5 stars
Total miles on v2.0 Reg Stock tune: 252
    Total miles on M+W 3.1 tune: 40
Truck Details: Stock 265/70R16 Goodyear Wranglers. Stock Bilstein shocks, stock gears

The vFTune by OVTune acquiring process from start to finish took almost three weeks with several back and forth correspondence. I knew it was going to take some time so patience is key and well worth the wait. Once the file was received I initially flashed my 2020 OR Tacoma to the v2.0 final. I noticed that throttle delay and gear hunting were no longer an issue. It was pleasant knowing I no longer had to rely on the ECT button after every startup. Thank you to Matt at OVTune for all the effort he has put into this program.

Following the vF Tuner for the Tacoma 3.5L thread, thankfully to @Mooseditty17, he further refined the v2.0 final file to his version the M+W 3.1 which was based off his 2017 Tacoma. No versions of the M+W file existed for the 2020 Tacoma so I decided to inquire with Mooseditty17 about making a file version for the 2020s (ECU ID:04B81). He was very helpful in sending instructions for me to replicate the M+W 3.1 values onto my v2.0 reg stock file. Main differences is to make key changes based on your vehicle tire size, and gears you're running. After editing the file, I re-flashed my Tacoma with no issues and took it out for a 40 mile drive on 87 octane fuel. I do not have a review at this time regarding the mild version (pre-ECT) as I was too excited to see what wild mode (ECT engaged) had entailed. Based off of wild mode, throttle response was very receptive. Barely am I stepping on the accelerator and the truck is gunning it. I noticed reaching 60mph in a short duration of time exiting the bypass onto the interstate. Shifting is smooth. Bogging and hunting for gears are a thing of the past, the truck should have came this way from the factory! Premium file edit is next to update and can only wonder if theres a big difference in the two files. I know its too early to make a conclusion on the M+W file but I’m just that excited to share with y'all my initial results.

So far no cons on either v2.0 or M+W3.1. M+W3.1 is a step up from v2.0 and I recommend any 2020 owners to give it a shot and see for themselves. Hands down should have been one of the first mods right off the dealership. Should there be any changes I’ll be sure to post updates.

I love mine so much, I don't want to change. Afraid I'll "lose it" - maybe not a realistic.......fear..............but the laptop with everything crashed and I have not chased a fix.

Is this a one and done tune/mod? Or do you have to leave something in the truck and constantly tweak it?
