Did a terrible paint touch-up on my 2018 Taco, any ideas?

This was your first mistake, now that you've painted it, if it were me I would just live with it, at least it won't rust!

I say live with it or invest in yourself. Do some research and try it again with proper tools. Spend that 900$ on quality shit and next time u need a lil touch up you might be able to blend it better

It can probably be buffed out with the right buffer, buffer pads and compound/polish, but it will still not be a good paint match. Rattle can paint rarely works all that well. A good body shop would paint the lower parts of the doors blending the paint to the original paint and then clear coat the whole door.

So they wouldn't be like Maaco and say they have to paint the entire doors maybe more to blend and remove trim parts and the black around the windows and in-between windows? I'll probably go get a second opinion from a local shop if the buff with compound and polish doesn't work this weekend

Sell it to Carvana for more than you paid for it, then buy a new one

I’d hate to know I had a truck that cost that much and I spray painted the side of it. Jesus

I've got some Colorado pinstriping on mine. It's just going to keep happening when I go offroad. I just don't care. As long as it doesn't go too deep...meh.

Yeah, a 2 year old truck, I'd fix it right, we're not talking about a 15-20 year old beater. But, if the OP doesn't see a value in having it properly fixed (which clearly he doesn't) then that's his choice.

Driving it until it dies, it camps and pulls my boat it's more beat in more ways than spray paint. I might get it done right just haven't decided if it's worth it yet

A: It's not that bad, but I know the ol' 'Nobody else would notice it, But I do because I did it and it's my truck' ... I've been there many times .. LOL!
B: I've actually done paint repairs before that turned out unnoticeable ...
Apply paint (Like the factory-color rattle-can stuff) .. when dry, gently wet-sand with some 400, then 600 grit paper. Maybe even 800 grit if you wanna go that far.. You may have to put another coat on. Rinse and repeat. Try not to leave any shiny spots.
Go to Harbor Freight and buy a $20 electric hand-buffer and a couple-three spare pads. (Hope it lasts long enough to complete the job..)
Go over it GENTLY with some rubbing compound and then polishing compound. Take yer time and be easy on it. Then wax.
If you do it all right, you shouldn't be able to tell.
Now, you'll still know it's there ... It may not be perfect ... And the rattle-can paint may not match perfect (As maybe the original paint could be a bit faded) ... but it will save you a ton of $$$..
Or, live with it .. LOL!

Thanks bud you get what I'm saying. It's not that it's the end of the world for me, just knew this was a good place to go for a remedy that I can do myself for less than $900. I didn't get where I'm at by throwing money at every shop, dealer, and salesman who ever pitched a buy. I got some GREAT ideas from people here and am laying out a project plan for this weekend. Thanks again.
