33x12.5 on stock?

Can I run a 33x12.5 on my stock 15's? The guys at my tire shop seemed to think it would be fine with my 3in lift, but Ive been reading up and I have heard both sides that it will work fine jsut rub a little on the wells, or that it wont and it wil rub my stock UCA or will be dangerous and have to be run at a lower psi. Im really hoping not because I am getting a good deal on them and the lift goes on Thursday. I looked at tirerack trying to figure it out but still cant, I just dont understand tire spacing or any of that stuff enough.

Wont that look wierd being they are so wide? would it be easier just buying a different rim?

Would any of these work? I really dont want to buy spacers right now, or new rims.

 

Ya I knew it stocks would fit i was just using it as a comparison.

So basically nothing will work without spacers or rims?

 

Or trade me your wheels, probably still wont work but I'd like some 16s.


and if I go 265/85 or 255 as you were suggesting wouldnt I still need spacers, or new rims such as 16s?

 

I had 33x12.5 on stock, fit fine. I have 3in lift with TC UCAs

 

I keep hearing it will fit and it wont Im kinda worried about buying the wheels and them not fitting..maybe I can get them to try them on for me.
Found someone with a 1st gen stock 16, would those work with like 285/75/16? or would it still not work cuz its the stock rim?

 

It will work, in the sense that it will be able to be assembled. However, if anyone is telling you that 33x12.5s fit on stock suspension, they are either lying, or are able to put up with a lot of rubbing. If you only drive on the street, and gently, then you would be fine, but there is no way that tires that size will handle any compression without hitting the UCA, cab mounts, etc.

Just remember that tires don't REALLY fit unless they don't rub during any steering position, at any suspension compression position. Anything less than that is not really "fitting", and the amount of hassle and rubbing people will put up with varies greatly.
