You can't get 3rd row on any of the TRD models (including the PRO). You can only get it on the SR5 (can't remember if it has to be Premium or not) and the Limited. Very few SR5 come with 3rd row. So you have to search hard for it and dealers websites aren't very helpful in finding the 3rd row option.

    OP,

I am no expert but I do like to look at all of my options and consider which one is best. I trust everyone here that says you don't get full value out of your truck with the mods -- and it also seems true that having the mods does deter a lot of buyers. That seems generally true most of the time. But we are not in normal times.

Not saying this is what I would do but worth looking at. I would like to see a spreadsheet that says how much is the stock truck worth in today's market? Blue Book, Carvana, you name it. Then how much do you think you could get for the truck in a private sale? Separate from that rough total estimate of the mods if you sell them separately.

The reason I ask is we know supply is low. We know demand is high. You have a nice looking truck. It may be possible that a knowledgeable buyer will give you the value of the truck and some value for the mods. Might not be 100% the same but who knows? I think it would be worth at least checking into. And a lot less work. I would walk away from most vehicles that have been modded but any one can see you did a great job ... all it takes is one or two people hot for a Tacoma who understand the value of what you did for a sale to be worth it.

Just throwing that out there as something to consider.

Read through most of this thread quickly, if you can handle a 4runner but not a Tacoma with the family....

Why not just throw a canopy on the truck? Unless you’re 6’2 or something i don’t see the improvement on getting a 4runner. All my buddies have one and when we go camping I cram way more stuff into my truck with just a tonneau cover.

OP - I'm in nearly the same boat. I have a paid off 2017 TRD OR, 3" lift with fox 2.0. 275 KO2's and Ray 10's in bronze (-10 offset). Truck as 58K miles on it but I have three kids under 6 and we've certainly outgrown it (not to mention it drives like a ride in lawn mower). I'm putting up for sale next week (Probably going to list at ~35K) and looking at a larger truck with some balls (leaning towards a Sierra AT4). If you look at the specs on a 4R the second row is nearly identical in dimensions which turned me off since we need more space.

I don't have my stock parts so selling as is. My neighbor just got 39K for his 2017 TRD OR which had about the same mileage and a few more mods. The market is crazy right now. Personally I wouldn't mess with returning it to stock, your truck is BA and you'll find somebody that will buy it as is at a fair price.

That’s a good price. Part of me just wants to sell the truck “as is” since I don’t have the stock parts and feeling lazy at this moment haha

thank you for your helpful input and keep me updated on truck sale

Couldnt hurt to try and see if you get any bites, I'm very skeptical of that 2017 for $39k, as that's where low mileage, clean 19s and 20s are at right now in this craziness, but region plays a part too. Good luck!

...you "don't have the stock parts"? Apologies, but why then would you even consider the added costs of RTS before selling?

Stock parts are super cheap to get here. Plus the dealer or the buyer is not going to offer me more cash cause of my “personal upgrades”

    better to part out.

I agree and would be great if you could get stock parts from whoever buys your stuff. But plenty of them around locally either way. Sucks to undo it though.

Shit. When I get kids they’re just gonna have to ride in the back of my access cab. If they don’t like that then they can walk.

I raised a family of five with a 1992 Camry. Guess we were po-folk. Kids didn’t care, wife didn’t complain, and I never noticed at the time, but that was before the present level of consciousness.

I think our expectations grow to fill what we can afford, or are willing to take on in debt. I’ve never made a vehicle payment, and never plan to, but that’s just me.
