Ride preference plays a role too, along with shock valving and all that good stuff. But yeah when you have the v6, double cab, heavy plate bumper + winch, 1/4" steel skids and dual batteries you need some extra help from the springs lol

If you go lower (from a 14 inch spring to a 13 inch spring), are you losing travel? What are the cons Of that?

What rate spring rate? A few other spring length questions. How long are the springs not installed on shock? How long are they when installed with no added preload? With no additional preload how much do they compress when vehicle weight applied? How much preload did you add to achieve desired ride height? What does this all tell me? One thing not discussed normally is how much stored energy is there. If you can find a truck scale see if you could get your truck weighed (total and each axle). A garbage transfer station would work as well if they have a scale. A good source for help is www.accutuneoffroad.com

 Shock travel will not change if the spring is changed. 13" spring is what comes factory from Fox, any change in spring rate would usually push you into a 14" spring since Eibach doesnt make a 13" long spring. No cons to going to a 13" spring, unless you have added weight to the truck.

That’s what I had figured, but someone made me second guess my opinion haha. Travel is travel, period. Also, thank you for the response accutune. Just read that forum a few hours ago! I am thinking of grabbing some 13” 600lb fox coils for my icons Since I have no weight up front. 650 is stiff smh

    Lots to come
Hey @AccuTune Offroad what do you recommend for a long travel coilover truck with a steel bumper and winch. stock spring has way too much preload to stay at 3in of lift.
