@Sebz13 here's a first hand account that you have nothing to be that scared about.. @High Noon is correct though. Do not dip your balls into it

 

My dad would use it to clean the pool after we skated and rode our bikes in it. Did a good job but it would knock you out if you didn't have a respirator.

 

Did you use it straight concentrate? I have turned aluminum black with straight sulphuric acid but working fast enough I never had an issue with diluted muriatic

I know guys will pay extra to "acid etch" designs into concrete, that's pretty cool it can be used as a pool cleaner.. I wonder if its a different grade of concrete for pools or has special coating to protect it from getting eaten away?

I usually use 4 parts water to 1 part muriatic. Never used sulphuric. I use muriatic a lot for rusty parts. More than anything else. Tried to clean an intake manifold with muriatic and turned black fast.

I remember when that stuff was the shit back in 2002. If you showed up to a college party with it people assumed your dad was a lawyer. Recently I got a taste for it and see you can get a 30pack for like $15. Since when did that stuff go down the tubes??
