Or another option: find somebody locally that’s willing to flash your vehicle for you. Going rate seems to be $200’ish? That’s a risk because if you like it and want more, then you’re in for that cost plus the purchase.

So I heard on the Ovtune's thread that there are some good custom tunes around here:D

An 87 and 93 octane specifically, does the 93 Oct tune take advantage of the higher octane to produce more power or is it just a matter of different octane and shifting points?

Really interested in trying it out:D

Would I need VFtuner or does the regular kit work?

I mentioned to @Mooseditty17 yesterday too that sometimes depending on RPM when it slip locks/unlocks it will definitely feel like it fully locked or unlocked. The crazy thing I logged yesterday was that I modded a tune to completely remove lock in 5th gear for some testing. When I logged it, it felt like it would lock when i was cruising at around 40 but techstream still showed it unlocked. That lead me to believe it was still slip locking. If i pressed ECT or switched to S it would immediately show a full lock but the RPM would not change...

Some background - I've gone from 2.0 premium THX to premium non THX, then to 2.0 regular THX. Flashed ry18Tac's latest tune for regular octane, and did not clear values. I only have about 40 miles on it, and will be taking a 500 mile road trip this weekend thru the hills of Kentucky down to east Tennessee and back. That will be the true test, but my initial impression is the same as LstMinutePanic, very solid tune. Quote "It shifted well, and there's plenty of power..... if tuning our tacos ended with a fully realized version of this tune, I would be happy."

The feeling I had with beta 2.0 19770, that responsive, effortless feeling the truck was cruising, just waiting for me to ask more of it, is back. Yeah, and on 89 octane that I'm running. It's not magic, it isn't exactly like the 93 octane tunes, but close enough for me, especially when 93 in Kentucky is $.60 more a gallon than regular and 89 (What I am using) is $.30 more. But the almost uncontrollable tip in from a stop is gone. So unless it implodes after settling in, which I highly doubt, this is a significant improvement, what I envision 2.0 final performance was supposed to be.

Kudos to ry18Tac, and many thanks to all who are offering their time and expertise to help those of us who are less experienced and technical. This stuff is great. All respect to you that are blazing the trail. I am hoping that the webinar gives me a better understanding of what you all are doing.

I need to, for sure! Is there a way to clone/copy from one ECU code to another without unlocking multiple?

I need to go through all your updates and just make them to a tune for myself. I feel like I'm way behind the game!

Running @Mooseditty17 latest ECT pwr tune modified for 4.88's and stock tires - so far only a few hundred miles but have to say this is the best my 04b04 has run. All miles mountain highway miles with combination D and S mode - no ECT yet - but PLENTY of power. Average mileage 22.5 mpg. Gonna run this one for a long long time. Thanks @Mooseditty17 ! Nice job.

Hey I got caught up with things tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to send you some spreadsheet things/instructions/info to get set up on the foundation for an enhanced tune and then you'll just have to adjust shift points or swap out options for the ECT switch as you see fit.
